COCOA BUTTER
(Theobroma cacao)
Famous for its excellent emollient properties, we source our cocoa butter from West Africa, where fermented beans of the cocoa tree are roasted, cracked and ground to give a powdery solid called cocoa mass, from which cocoa butter is pressed.
ROSEMARY EXTRACT
(Rosmarinus officinalis)
Used for its antioxidant properties, we source our rosemary from Spain, where the extract is filtered from the needle-shaped leaves of the plant.
CHAMOMILE EXTRACT
(Anthemis nobilis)
Legendary for its skin-soothing properties, the flowers of this aromatic perennial are harvested in England in the summer, before the ingredient is solvent extracted from the fragrant flower.
EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL
(Eucalyptus globulus)

The best
I have been using this for years and love it. Every so often I try cheaper products but always go back to it. Most other products cannot be used near your eyes so you just end up buying more than one product for the same job. Plus they are either too heavy or too harsh on my mature skin. It lasts a long time so in the end value for money. I am often complimented on my skin so that is a bonus!

Consistently a great product.
I have bought this product for more years than I care to remember and purchased it originally from a very well known TV company. This is before Liz Earle became a household name. For me it is such a good quality cleansing cream accompanied by the cloths. I take it on holidays - wouldn’t be without it. It has a beautiful feel as it’s smoothed over my face. The cleansing cloths work so well and leave the skin feeling fresh and pampered. The cloths I replace every time I finish the tube. I am a firm follower and use other products as well.

I have bought this cleanser for many years but recently decided to try an advertised cheaper brand alternative. No comparison, Liz Earle the hands down winner! It cleanses my skin without it feeling tight and no irritation or breakouts. Bought the 100ml sizes as convenient size for holidays and not prepared to venture into alternatives ever again!

Excellent!
I bought this product a couple of months ago having started suffering with hormonal acne and it has made such a difference. I’d always had clear skin so the spots were making me really self conscious and getting me down. But this product has helped clear my skin massively and has made it look glowy and fresh. It is definitely worth spending the money for a quality product.

I am very pleased-I have been using cheaper face wash it does not compare with cleanse &polish.I ONLY WISH THE PRICE COULD BE LOWER. Also when I come to reorder I can by replacement with out hot cloth I have a stock of these have saved.I use to always use this product for years,but it was a case of expens.I always recommend this product

I’ve been using cleanse and polish for a number of years and I love it! It feels so nice on my skin and although -since I don’t wear makeup I’ve none to remove it takes away the days grime to leave my skin feeling clean and healthy. I’ve occasionally thought of swapping for a much cheaper couple of quid cleanser but since I don’t spend a lot on myself I always treat myself to this .

I brought this about a month ago. I have used this brand before and then Changed to another, which was no way near as lovely as this product.
My skin feels and looks younger with its use.
Only one disappointment was I wish I had the face cloth with it...I will be buying one!

Has there recently been a change to the formulation of this or your matching toner? This and the toner used to be so good for sensitive skin but I’m finding it is triggering my eczema when it never used to so wanted to enquire whether you’ve changed it?
I have sensitive skin and also have used the tonic for years. I haven’t noticed any change as yet , but I am using tonic that is 6 months old .

Have you recently changed the formula in any way? I've been using this for years and have recently noticed it's not as creamy as before, plus the fragrance doesn't seem as strong
I have been using this for 20 years and I’ve most recently noticed that this is now leaving scum in my sink after use and it never did that before. There must have been a change to some cheaper ingredients for it to do this. The original smell is also changed as it’s lost that eucalyptus scent.

How to useLIZEARLE Naturally active napkin?

Used alongside our Cleanse & Polish, our Pure Cotton Cloths will gently exfoliate the skin. Rinse the cloth under hand-hot water and gently wring it out, then wipe away all traces of cleanser from your skin. Use with circular movements to stimulate the skin, dislodge dead skin cells and lift away impurities and make up. Rinse thoroughly after every use and allow the cloth to air dry naturally. We recommend that you pop them into a 30 degree white wash after every few uses to keep them fresh and clean.

Has this changed, over the last few months I noticed a distinct sludgyness in the consistency, am looking for something else instead. It definitely not as good as it used to be.

We can confirm that there have been no recent changes made to the formulation of our Cleanse & Polish.
Sometimes, due to differing harvesting methods we use along with the different locations and seasons, this can affect the natural plant oils and botanicals we use in our formulations. This may impact the colour, aroma or texture of a formulation. This should only be very minimal though and does not affect the performance of the product.

Our products have been tested in accordance with industry standards and show a minimum shelf life of at least thirty six months. Many specific environmental factors influence the shelf life of a product, which means that we are unable to confirm for how long your Liz Earle product can be stored unopened once it has been despatched to you.
On each of our products you will find the EU standard Period After Opening (PAO) symbol which identifies the 'lifetime' of a product once opened for the first time. It can be used as a guide once your product has been opened. The number inside the image of the pot tells you the number of months of this product's lifetime once opened, for example 9M indicates 9 months.

Suitable for all skin types including sensitive, the whole family can enjoy our Cleanse & Polish which is suitable for children from 10 years.
This deeply cleanses and will gently exfoliate, to reveal clearer-looking skin. Used with the gently exfoliating pure cotton cloth, it lifts away dead skin for a smoother, brighter-looking glow.
All our formulations are suitable for even the most sensitive skins however, as with all our products, we would recommend that you carry out a patch test when using any product for the first time.

Does it matter if I soak the cloth into a cold water instead of hot??

We recommend using warm water when cleaning, rather than very hot or very cold water as these two extremes can irritate the skin.
