AVOCADO OIL
(Persea gratissima)
Legendary for its healthy fat content and emollient properties, the avocado is native to Central America. To extract the vitamin-rich, skin-nourishing oil, the succulent flesh of the ripe fruit is squeezed.
BORAGE SEED OIL
(Borago officinalis)
Renowned for its fantastic moisturising properties, we source our borage from England, where the pure, GLA-rich oil is pressed from the shiny, dark brown seeds of the bright blue flower.
ECHINACEA EXTRACT
(Echinacea angustifolia/purpurea)
Used for its toning and conditioning properties, Echinacea is native to North America. We source our skin-smoothing extract from within the United Kingdom, where the plant is harvested in July and August before the ingredient is extracted and micro-filtered from the flowers, leaves and stem.
HOPS EXTRACT
(Humulus lupulus)
Used for its mild astringent properties, we source our hops from the United Kingdom and Germany, where the leafy green hop strobiles are harvested in August and September before they are fully ripe. The strobiles are then dried in the shade before being extracted to create our ingredient.

My favourite summer moisturiser
I’ve used Liz Earle skin regime for many years and have been a devotee of the gel cream for some time. It’s the perfect summer moisturiser as it doesn’t add ‘weight’ to my skin and is really comfortable in hot weather.

Not impressed
I have acne prone skin since being a teenager; all I have used on my face for the last 12 years is Jane iredale's magic mitt, twice a day. I finally decided to invest in some moisturiser to keep my skin healthy and was recommended Liz Earle, but sadly after barely an hour of applying it I had begun to break out, after years without any breakouts. Very sad and disappointing :(

Lovely lovely gel cream
Was always wary of gel creams/moisturisers as those that I'd tried left my skin feeling tight and not moisturised at all but this; this is fantastic! I love it and it really makes my skin feel fabulous and hydrated all day long. Highly recommend.

Super hydration
I have very sensitive skin and eyes and have not had great success with other moisturisers. My daughter originally bought my first pot of this gel cream within a set at Christmas and I have to say it’s fabulous!
It doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes, it absorbs well into my aging combination skin, but leaves a glowing hydrated look. My wrinkle seem reduced too. Also, a little goes a very long way.
I honestly cannot recommend this while range highly enough.

Great moisturiser shame about the smell.
Previously used the tube that came with the 3 step routine and loved it and have used it in the past without issue, so I bought the pot and it stinks! I'm not sure if it's the borage seed, as I know that has been known to have an odd smell. As a moisturiser, it is lovely. The consistency is great, and my skin does like it, but I can not continue using it because of the smell sadly! If you can push through the scent, go for it!

Having used Liz Earle for years, this is was bought for me and was such a let down. It smelt of cardboard and had no redeeming features at all. Not recommended in the slightest. Don’t know what has happened to Liz Earle, Aldi is so much better these days. Don’t waste your money!

Brilliant, I never want to run out
I have tried many Liz Earle products and generally like most of them. I have very problematic skin and I have tried many products to try and improve it. This moisturiser is the only one which works for me. I make sure I always have one pot in storage to make sure I don’t run out!

Honestly
I’m going to be honest, I’ve not seen a reduction in any lines etc etc but what I have noticed is how smooth my skin is! It feels so soft and for me that’s worth the 5 stars, plus it hasn’t got an over the top fragrance.

Medicine smell put me off
This cream works relatively well but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special but I really dislike the smell. It doesn’t necessarily smell bad but is just really medical and unpleasant. I would not recommend this cream at all. The texture is quite nice and almost gel like while still being a cream.

Why does jar boast 72 hours of hydration. If you use Liz Earle, your moisturiser would be applied at least twice a day. So why would you need 72 hours. Confused!

is the product suitable for teenage acne? is the product non-comedogenic?

All skin, however oily or blemish prone, needs nurturing with vitamins and essential fatty acids twice a day, morning and night to ensure that it's in the best possible condition. The best formulation for teenage, ance prone or oily skin types would be our Skin Repair Gel Cream. Our Gel Cream is a cool lightweight translucent cream gel which is slighted mattifying on the skin and provides refreshing shine-free hydration. All our products in the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range have not been tested for comedogenicity. However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin. Can you tell me if the formula for the gel moisturiser has changed please? I have ordered some from QVC & it has a very unpleasant & distinctive smell unlike the gel cream I have previously purchased directly from yourselves.

Sometimes, due to differing harvesting methods we use, different locations and seasons this can affect the natural plant oils and botanicals we use, these can occasionally have an impact on the colour, aroma or texture of a formulation. This should only be very minimal though and does not affect the performance of the product.
