BIDENS PILOSA
(Also known as Spanish needles)
A plant extract derived from a relative of the daisy family, Bidens pilosa works by mimicking retinol’s mechanism of action, helping to reduce the appearance of common signs of skin ageing. By adopting similar action to retinol, it targets areas prone to loss of firmness and plumpness, providing impressive results in smoothing the appearance of wrinkles but with minimal side effects.
KIGELIA FRUIT EXTRACT
(Kigelia Africana)
Renowned for its skin-plumping benefits, which leaves skin feeling supple, we responsibly source our organic-certified kigelia fruit extract from Zimbabwe. Here, the supplier’s focus is on generating income for rural communities through the sustainable and equitable harvesting and processing of wild growing plant products.
SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.
CARROT SEED OIL
(Daucus carota sativa)

Retinol Paste- Overnight Magic!
I received a free sample of this and decided to try it. So glad I did. I have made several purchases since. Not your usual fluid cream but you don’t need much and it covers well. Ideal as a night cream - you will wake up to an totally hydrated skin and the beauty of it is that this feeling lasts for days.

See the difference

An extra moisture boost for the skin
I was a little sceptical on first receiving a free tube of this with my order. After a few goes I first got used to the thickness of the cream. I've now used it 2-3 times a week for about 4 weeks. It really does do what it says! It makes the skin feel smoother and well moisturised-I feel like it adds an extra layer of help to skin for women of a more mature age!

Bought it at last
I eventually bought this a few weeks ago! Didn’t use it initially but now use it on a regular basis. Happy with product but it is quite difficult to squeeze out of the tube and the paste is really thick which took me some time to get use to and a bit off-putting! Is out supposed to be like that or is it me?

Amazing!
Although a little expensive, I absolutely love this skin paste. You can tell it’s good stuff the minute you put it on your skin and the results the next day are amazing. My skin always feels rehydrated and nourished. I would definitely recommend.

Worth adding to your skincare regime
Received this as a free gift and it has now become a permanent fixture. I use it once or twice a week, at night. Only a pea-sized amount is needed so it lasts quite a while. Skin texture and moisture is definitely improved. The only downside is an increased sensitivity to sunlight the next day so I'm careful when I use it

Fantastic
I used this for the first time today but I only left it on for 3 hours, I have sensitive skin so did not want to leave it on over night..I can honestly say that in the amount of time I left it on I saw a difference in my skin softer ,plump and very glowing skin

Excellent product, I'll always continue to use it
I'll always continue to use LIZ EARLE products now, whatever I've tried I've absolutely loved. My mam got me onto her skin regime, my skin was not great before & I thought nothing could change it,however, liz earle completely changed that & my skin now is really good& for once I'm finally happy with it. The ALT RETINOL PASTE is amazing great for plumping out wrinkles, I'm lucky I only have a few at the moment but don't like them!!

Dislike the metal container
I use this twice weekly in between my Superskin nourishing night cream. I like the contents although find it doesn’t go that far… BUT I totally dislike the container it’s in. I have weak hands/thumbs (awaiting surgery) and live alone. I find it extremely difficult to squeeze the paste out. The tube resembles a squashed and twisted toothpaste tube and as for the lid, it is so difficult to get it aligned successfully to twist it back on to close. This happens every time I use it.
Please LE reconsider the packaging to either soft plastic as with some of your other products or a pump action like the serum I regularly use. Photo attached!

Can I use this with a serum that contains salicylic acid?

We can confirm our Superskin Alt-Retinol Skin Paste uses a plant-based alternative to Retinol, which helps deliver skincare benefits, whilst being gentle on the skin, meaning minimal side effects. After regular use, skin looks more youthful with a visible reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
There is no retinol in our Superskin Alt-Retinol Paste, so the level is 0 and should not interfere with any other skincare products within your routine, including those that contain salicylic acid. However, please note that our Paste has not been tested with products containing salicylic acid as a direct ingredient.

How long does it last in terms of date of expiry?
Thank you for your question. We can confirm all our products have been tested in accordance with industry standards and show a minimum shelf life of at least thirty six months (3 years).
It may also be helpful to know that on each of our product, you will find the EU standard Period After Opening (PAO) symbol which identifies the 'lifetime' of a product once opened for the first time. It can be used as a guide once your product has been opened. The number inside the image of the pot tells you the number of months of this product's lifetime once opened, for example, 9M indicates 9 months – the shelf life of the Superskin Alt-Retinol Skin Paste is 12 months once opened.

Hi I. Does this paste help with pigmentation and sun damage?
This is very good to use after the exfoliating mask also by itself.Your skin looks smoother and clearer.I think it helps with sun damage but I do still have some pigmentation.I use it twice a week because my skin looks clearer and brighter after using it.

So I cleanse, essence lotion, eye cream, moisturiser and then serum. When using the retinol paste would I just cleanse and put it on or would I do my routine as usual and the make the paste my last step? Thanks in advance.
I find this brilliant product works best after using the cleanse and polish, followed by instant boost. I do apply the eye cream as this is around the orbital bone.
I apply the paste in place of any moisturiser or oil overnight, as (for me) works better this way.

Unfortunately, we're not familiar with other brands, so it's very difficult to advise whether our Superskin Alt-Retinol Skin Paste would be suitable to use alongside your retinol serum. However, this product contains plant based Bidens Pilosa, which mimics the retinol type action and is much gentler on the skin.
As with all our products, we would recommend a patch test first.

Is it non comedogenic (pore blocking) . I have been told to only use non comedogenic products as some immediately cause spots despite cleansing whereas non comedogenic ones don’t . Thank you

However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin.
