BIDENS PILOSA
(Also known as Spanish needles)
A plant extract derived from a relative of the daisy family, Bidens pilosa works by mimicking retinol’s mechanism of action, helping to reduce the appearance of common signs of skin ageing. By adopting similar action to retinol, it targets areas prone to loss of firmness and plumpness, providing impressive results in smoothing the appearance of wrinkles but with minimal side effects.
KIGELIA FRUIT EXTRACT
(Kigelia Africana)
Renowned for its skin-plumping benefits, which leaves skin feeling supple, we responsibly source our organic-certified kigelia fruit extract from Zimbabwe. Here, the supplier’s focus is on generating income for rural communities through the sustainable and equitable harvesting and processing of wild growing plant products.
SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.

(Daucus carota sativa)

Great Product

When ever it mentions Retinol I used to run a mile, most definitely not for me or so I thought, then an adviser talked me through the ingredients she was so convincing I thought I would give it a try. It's brilliant definitely notice the difference in the morning. Definitely a yes from me.

Favourite Liz Earle product
I love this. I use it 2 times a week after cleansing and using microdermabrasion (using LE) products. I then use LE skin tonic and then alt retinol paste. It goes on my skin beautifully and I wake up the next morning with lovely hydrated skin. Would not be without and a little goes a long way.

Won't be without this!
Absolutely love the way thus makes my skin feel! Have used this as directed overnight to wake up to smooth nourished skin but also sometimes in the mornings on cold days before I go out on my dog walk as it feels like a great protector too. I love it.

Smooth Radiant Skin!
I have been using Liz Earle products for years, and this is yet another product that doesn't disappoint. I use it 3x/week, using the superskin night cream on the other nights, and it really does enrich your skin and leave it much smoother. I know it's super expensive, but it's also a super product so I will continue to use it :-).

Retinol Paste- Overnight Magic!
I received a free sample of this and decided to try it. So glad I did. I have made several purchases since. Not your usual fluid cream but you don’t need much and it covers well. Ideal as a night cream - you will wake up to an totally hydrated skin and the beauty of it is that this feeling lasts for days.

An extra moisture boost for the skin
I was a little sceptical on first receiving a free tube of this with my order. After a few goes I first got used to the thickness of the cream. I've now used it 2-3 times a week for about 4 weeks. It really does do what it says! It makes the skin feel smoother and well moisturised-I feel like it adds an extra layer of help to skin for women of a more mature age!

Bought it at last
I eventually bought this a few weeks ago! Didn’t use it initially but now use it on a regular basis. Happy with product but it is quite difficult to squeeze out of the tube and the paste is really thick which took me some time to get use to and a bit off-putting! Is out supposed to be like that or is it me?

Amazing!

How long does it last in terms of date of expiry?
Thank you for your question. We can confirm all our products have been tested in accordance with industry standards and show a minimum shelf life of at least thirty six months (3 years).
It may also be helpful to know that on each of our product, you will find the EU standard Period After Opening (PAO) symbol which identifies the 'lifetime' of a product once opened for the first time. It can be used as a guide once your product has been opened. The number inside the image of the pot tells you the number of months of this product's lifetime once opened, for example, 9M indicates 9 months – the shelf life of the Superskin Alt-Retinol Skin Paste is 12 months once opened.

Hi I. Does this paste help with pigmentation and sun damage?
This is very good to use after the exfoliating mask also by itself.Your skin looks smoother and clearer.I think it helps with sun damage but I do still have some pigmentation.I use it twice a week because my skin looks clearer and brighter after using it.

So I cleanse, essence lotion, eye cream, moisturiser and then serum. When using the retinol paste would I just cleanse and put it on or would I do my routine as usual and the make the paste my last step? Thanks in advance.
I find this brilliant product works best after using the cleanse and polish, followed by instant boost. I do apply the eye cream as this is around the orbital bone.
I apply the paste in place of any moisturiser or oil overnight, as (for me) works better this way.

I use retinol serum, would I be able to use your alt paste as well twice a week as I like it’s added benefits or would that be too much

Unfortunately, we're not familiar with other brands, so it's very difficult to advise whether our Superskin Alt-Retinol Skin Paste would be suitable to use alongside your retinol serum. However, this product contains plant based Bidens Pilosa, which mimics the retinol type action and is much gentler on the skin.
As with all our products, we would recommend a patch test first.

Is it non comedogenic (pore blocking) . I have been told to only use non comedogenic products as some immediately cause spots despite cleansing whereas non comedogenic ones don’t . Thank you

However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin. I have just had chickenpox (which was horrendous). I have 4 large spots on my face, that I didn’t scratch however will this product help reduce the likelihood of scarring?
