Our non-comedogenic formula delivers SPF 25 broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays, blue light and pollution while enhancing skin's natural defence barrier.
Enriched with a priming, light reflecting pigment that blends with all skin tones, plus blueberry seed oil, lingonberry seed oil and shea butter, skin is left looking healthy and luminous.

BLUEBERRY SEED OIL
(Vaccinium myrtillus)
High in potent antioxidants, we use blueberry seed oil in our Environmental Defence Cream SPF 25, as it helps the cream work as a natural shield against blue light. Thanks to its high fatty acid composition, it also supports skin’s natural moisture barrier, resulting in hydrated and nourished skin. Sustainably sourced and produced; we extract this ingredient from 100% upcycled blueberries – a waste product of the juice production industry.
LINGONBERRY SEED OIL
(Vaccinium vitis-idaea)
Known to be a powerful antioxidant with a reputation as a health-promoting superfruit, we use lingonberry seed oil in our Environmental Defence Cream SPF 25, as it helps the cream work as a natural shield against blue light. This botanical is also known for its conditioning properties and for helping boost skin’s natural moisture barrier. We source these wild self-sustainable berries from Finland and Sweden.
SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.

Environmental defence cream.
Started to use recently. Very little is needed and it is tinted. I use under make up trying to let the product dry before putting on foundation.
I'm keen to avoid my sunspot area worsening so time will tell if this does the trick.
Having been told recently by a Dermatologist to use a mineral skin protector this is what I am trialing.

Invisible protection
Getting older has made me take a more serious approach to my skin care routine which is why I ordered the Environment defence cream. It has a colour to it that disappears after applying. Lovely smooth texture that blends well with the Superskin moisturiser. I’m happier knowing my skin is better protected from environmental issues.

Tinted and stays on all day.
I bought this for the first time last year and apart from staying out all day in the summer I wear it every day and am very happy with it. It has a tint so you are not putting a thick white layer on your face as with some other sun protection creams.

Brilliant environmental facial defence.
I bought this after an online chat. I am normally allergic to facial spf, which causes swelling,rash and itching.
I have been using the defence cream whist on holiday in Italy and have no unpleasant symptoms at all, so thank you Liz Earle.

Highly recommended
I have used this product for as long as I can remember and I absolutely love it. It gives an extra layer to my skin every morning and more importantly has an SPF of 25 so I always feel that my skin is protected. It will be more important when I go on holiday next week in the hot sun. An additional layer of protection.

Not for me
I've used LE for 25+ years and bought this to use on holiday. However it's not for me I'm afraid, I found the consistency uncomfortably thick and I didn't like the skin tone pigment, it was very difficult to remove and took multiple cleansings. It felt like wearing foundation or a face mask, which isn't pleasant in hot sun as I had bought it for the SPF protection, it also remained unpleasantly tacky during the day. I won't use any more.

Summer essential
This is must have daily essential for me. I use it instead of my usual Liz Earle moisturiser on sunny days, but you can use both. I would use a much higher spf for sunbathing but this is ideal for daily protection. Blends in brilliantly.

Thin consistency
I really wanted to like this product but I found the cream to take a long time to absorb into the skin. The tint made me look like I’d applied my foundation badly and so if you wanted to wear this product to work etc, you would need to apply make up over the top of it. It also made my skin feel quite irritated.

I’ve been using a variety of Liz Earle products for many many years and love them all. However there is something in this product that has given me an allergic reaction on my skin. I’ve never had this before with any other product. No idea what the offending ingredient could be.

It is slightly coloured and easy to apply.
Prone to Rosacea, using this product gives me confidence that my skin is protected when out and about.

Perfect for my very sensitive skin.
I have incredibly sensitive skin and can only use mineral spf. This one is perfect - im not allergic to it and it is tinted so unlike the other mineral sunblocks I have used - i don't get the horrid white face look. Please can you make it in a spf 50 too.

A great cream for all year round protection.
I have bought this cream several times now. It's a great product if like me you don't use foundation anymore. It provides just enough coverage to give my skin a bit of colour and it contains SPF 25. I use it all year round. I have sensitive skin and have never had any stinging or rash. Please don't change this product or worse still stop making it.

Love that it’s a mineral spf
Like this product as it is a mineral spf. Goes on well and is slightly tinted. Can only wear it in the winter months as the spf is not high enough to wear in the summer months etc. Please could you consider doing a higher mineral spf.

Horrid application and finish
Unfortunately I have to say that this is the worst product I’ve tried from Liz Earle.
The application is horrible as it goes all clumpy when you first start to rub it in, not like anything else I’ve ever put on my face. It does eventually even out but then for the rest of the day my skin felt like it has a layer of grease over it.
The one star is because the slight tint looked good on my light coloured skin.

Not very good
I tried this over superskin moisturiser and it just seems to spread unevenly on my skin , it’s really weird . I am wondering if it is faulty . I’ve tried lots of spfs over the years and this isn’t good . It looks patchy and doesn’t absorb very well at all . My skin doesn’t like it . I’ve wasted my money buying this . It’s a shame because I enjoy using all my other Liz Earle products.

Why does your suncream contain Titanium Dioxide, if it is banned all over European countries in food,causing lung cancers in animals and humans ?.
I don't think Liz Earle really answered the question - I would also like to know why is it used when it's banned in Europe and is carcinogenic?

Do you still need a primer before applying make up, or is this sufficient?

Our easily absorbed fluid contains SPF25 that protects your skin against UV, blue light and pollution without harming the planet, suitable for all skin types and tones through a mineral formulation. This primes and protects for visibly healthy-looking skin.
You may find that you don't need to use a primer alongside this however, should you wish to continue using a primer, this should be applied before our Environmental Defence Cream SPF25.

Why does this product( the environmental defence cream) need moisturiser on first ? I just want to put moisturiser on that has SPF in it - every other company seems to manage this.

As our moisturisers can be used both morning and evening, we have chosen not to include SPF as this is not required in the evening.
We would recommend applying this after your moisturiser to ensure your skin is fully mosturised so the product melts nicely into the skin.
