WHERE WE ARE
WHERE WE ARE
WE’RE A SUSTAINABILITY PARTNER OF THE GLOBAL SHEA ALLIANCE
We love to harness the nourishing properties of shea in our products, so it’s important we source it responsibly. The GSA’s mission is to drive a sustainable shea industry worldwide that supports and improves the livelihoods of rural African women and their communities. We’ve worked with GSA to help set up a cooperative of 800 shea pickers in the North Gonja District, Ghana. Through this, women are enabled to work more efficiently and generate more income through Business Development and Health & Safety training.

WE’RE BUILDING LASTING RELATIONSHIPS WITH MORE COMMUNITIES TOO…
Working with the GSA is just one of the partnerships we’re proud of – we have so many more community stories to share. From the wild-harvested baobab fruit we source in partnership with organically certified rural producers from the Kaza National Reserve, Southern Africa to supporting the British bee population through the borage seed oil we source from experienced farmers in Essex, we are working hard to make you proud.

WE LOVE TO UPCYCLE
When juice companies are finished making their refreshing drinks, there is tons of goodness in their rubbish. They can’t use cranberry seeds in their drinks, but we can use them in our Superskin™ range thanks to their nourishing properties. Not only does this utilise the waste from the juice company, it means we don’t have to use any additional land or other resources that are needed to grow the cranberries we use in your favourite skincare products, leaving more natural habitats to thrive untouched.

OUR SOURCING STORIES MUST CONTINUE…
While we already know the country of origin for over 90% of our botanical ingredients, we are committed to making this the case for 100% of them. Additionally, we have what we call a gold level of traceability for as many of our naturally active ingredients as possible – not only will we know the country they’ve been sourced from, we will know their exact provenance, down to the specific farm or sustainable resource. To do this, we are actively looking to expand our community support so that we can build more lasting relationships with initiatives similar to GSA. Watch this space!
