COCOA BUTTER

Famous for its excellent emollient properties, we source our cocoa butter from West Africa, where fermented beans of the cocoa tree are roasted, cracked and ground to give a powdery solid called cocoa mass, from which cocoa butter is pressed.
EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL
(Eucalyptus globulus)
Renowned for its purifying properties and invigorating aroma, we source our eucalyptus from China, where our essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the fast-growing eucalyptus tree.
JOJOBA BEADS
(Jojoba esters)
Prized for their gentle exfoliating action, jojoba beads leave skin clearer, brighter and more polished. To create our naturally biodegradable beads that are kind to the environment, pale yellow jojoba oil is hydrogenated to create a hard white wax, which is then warmed and dropped from a height to create smooth spheres.

Skin feels Refreshed

Great Exfoliator
I have been using the Gentle Exfoliating Cream for many years & love it. My skin is very sensitive and I have not had any problems using this . The jojoba beads are so gentle, takes away the dead skin cells and leaves my skin feeling soft and looking bright.

Great product, badly designed tube
I regularly buy this product which I love, unfortunately the pump dispenser was discontinued . The replacement is a metal tube very difficult to squeeze onto your hand in the shower and replace the screw lid without loosing most of the product!

Fine grained kind to skin and Planet
I have been using this exfoliator for years. Twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday I exfoliate then cleanse, tone and apply my moisturiser. It is very gentle and rinses off well. Leaves my skin smooth and glowing. I like the fact that it is biodegradable and that the grains are very small not harsh on the skin.

Daily essential for me!
Have reintroduced this to my skincare routine recently after a few years of using a salicylic acid product. It is just as good and so gentle. I use it every morning after cleansing at night with cleanse snd polish. Its so kind to the skin. Please don't stop making this I love it. My only issue is I much preferred the old pump style as there is kuchen less wastage.

Most Amazing Scent
I chose this as a free sample with my order as I had not previously tried it. It provided the most gentle exfoliation unlike some which can feel ‘scratchy’. It also has the most amazing scent, I felt like it was a real treat for my skin. Unfortunately it was out of stock online when I tried to purchase in the sale. I can understand why it is so popular!

I love this exfoliater it is gentle on your skin and leaves it so soft. I have tried others but this is the best. Your skin feels so clean and fresh and your moisturiser just glides on and you can feel it being drawn into your skin. Your skin is glowing after you have exfoliated with this product.🤗

It says ‘gentle’ and it really is - even on my easily irritated skin I can happily use this a few times a week. It feels very comfortable to use and leaves skin feeling deeply cleansed but never rough or dry. . I feel it has smoothed out some bumpy uneven patches of skin leaving it smooth and clear. Will be glad when full size is available again.

Liz Earle Gentle Exfoliator is a great product but it is never available to buy on the site and places like boots are always out of stock too ... so if you are lucky enough to have bought 2 or 3 in advance you have a fantastic product and it makes your skin feel amazing ... but it is frustrating that such low stock is produced ...

It’s best on damp skin. The exfoliator itself is great, however due to the dreadfully impractical packaging I just cant use it anymore.

Could you tell me if you are actively looking at different packaging options for this product in light of the reviews or not? I won’t be buying it again until the packaging is sorted.

Our new packaging is made from recyclable aluminium. Not only this, the range looks much more consistent with one another, making it easier to find the targeted solution for your skincare need.

What is the difference between your 2 exfoliators please?
I use Cleanse and Polish most nights, the Gentle Exfoliator about once a week. I am aged 70. My daughter aged 42 uses Cleanse and Polish every day both morning and night as a 'refreshing daily cleanser' as she describes it. She uses the Gentle Exfoliator every few days, a.m. only as a deep scrub. I love the the Brightening Treatment Mask and use it about 2 or 3 times a week in the morning. It is not like a heavy mud or mask which tightens on the skin, just revitalises and makes one feel and look good.

Our Gentle Face Exfoliator is ideal for teenager acne prone skin types where it contains moisturising cocoa butter to soften skin, purifying eucalyptus and fine jojoba beads which gently buffs away dead skin cells and impurities to help clear up blackheads, blocked pores and congested skin. We would recommend using this 2-3 times a week.
None of the products in the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range have been tested for comedogenicity. However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin.
