COCOA BUTTER

Famous for its excellent emollient properties, we source our cocoa butter from West Africa, where fermented beans of the cocoa tree are roasted, cracked and ground to give a powdery solid called cocoa mass, from which cocoa butter is pressed.
EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL
(Eucalyptus globulus)
Renowned for its purifying properties and invigorating aroma, we source our eucalyptus from China, where our essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the fast-growing eucalyptus tree.
JOJOBA BEADS
(Jojoba esters)
Prized for their gentle exfoliating action, jojoba beads leave skin clearer, brighter and more polished. To create our naturally biodegradable beads that are kind to the environment, pale yellow jojoba oil is hydrogenated to create a hard white wax, which is then warmed and dropped from a height to create smooth spheres.

Great Face exfoliating mask
I really enjoyed using this exfoliating face mask! It left my skin feeling really smooth, soft and refreshed without making it feel overly dry or tight. My skin looked brighter afterwards and felt like all the dull, dead skin had been removed. It’s definitely a nice little addition to my skincare routine, especially when my skin needs a bit of a refresh. Would definitely recommend

I picked up the Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator a few months ago and have been really enjoying it. My skin feels so soft and smooth after using it, and it leaves my complexion looking fresh and healthy without feeling harsh or stripped.
The best part was when a friend actually complimented how healthy my skin looked right after I’d used it and asked what I’d been using! I’ve definitely noticed my skin looks brighter and more refreshed since adding it into my routine. Such a lovely gentle exfoliator and one I’ll be keeping in my skincare routine.

Does this go on damp/wet skin or dry skin?
After cleansing and patting fry with a towel, apply toner on cotton wool with gentle sweeping strokes from the neck upwards, avoiding eyes, skin with feel refreshed but not taut

We can confirm that the Gentle Face Exfoliator in the 75ml pump was discontinued in July 2021, after which our recyclable aluminium tube packaging was launched.

It’s best on damp skin. The exfoliator itself is great, however due to the dreadfully impractical packaging I just cant use it anymore.

Could you tell me if you are actively looking at different packaging options for this product in light of the reviews or not? I won’t be buying it again until the packaging is sorted.

As part of our journey to tread as lightly as possible with the impact we have on the planet, we have updated our mask and treatment range to be much easier to recycle from home. Our new packaging is made from recyclable aluminium. Not only this, the range looks much more consistent with one another, making it easier to find the targeted solution for your skincare need.
Whilst we can confirm we are not currently looking to change this packaging, we will certainly pass your feedback on to our Packaging Team. Comments from customers really help us when making future improvements.
In the meantime, we can confirm that our Gentle Face Exfoliator 15ml travel size does not come in an aluminium tube, but instead comes in our recyclable plastic tubes.

What is the difference between your 2 exfoliators please?
I use Cleanse and Polish most nights, the Gentle Exfoliator about once a week. I am aged 70. My daughter aged 42 uses Cleanse and Polish every day both morning and night as a 'refreshing daily cleanser' as she describes it. She uses the Gentle Exfoliator every few days, a.m. only as a deep scrub. I love the the Brightening Treatment Mask and use it about 2 or 3 times a week in the morning. It is not like a heavy mud or mask which tightens on the skin, just revitalises and makes one feel and look good.

Hi, is this suitable for teenage acne? is the product non-comedogenic? How often should I use the scrub?

Our Gentle Face Exfoliator is ideal for teenager acne prone skin types where it contains moisturising cocoa butter to soften skin, purifying eucalyptus and fine jojoba beads which gently buffs away dead skin cells and impurities to help clear up blackheads, blocked pores and congested skin. We would recommend using this 2-3 times a week.
None of the products in the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range have been tested for comedogenicity. However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin.
