Aloe Vera

ALOE VERA
(Aloe barbadensis)

Featuring formidable hydrating, soothing and cooling properties, our aloe vera is harvested in the morning to maximise the amount of juice the sword-shaped fronds yield, before being freeze-dried to create a powder.

Calendula

CALENDULA EXTRACT
(Calendula officinalis)

Well-known for its calming and soothing effect on skin, we source our calendula from Egypt, where our ingredient is solvent extracted from the petals of the flower.

Chamomile

CHAMOMILE EXTRACT
(Anthemis nobilis)

Legendary for its skin-soothing properties, the flowers of this aromatic perennial are harvested in England in the summer, before the ingredient is solvent extracted from the fragrant flower.

Cucumber

CUCUMBER EXTRACT
(Cucumis sativus)

Loved for its intensely soothing, cooling and hydrating properties, we source our cucumber from within the UK, where our ingredient is produced from the fresh, green flesh of the vegetable.

Aqua (water), Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-10-caprylate, Decyl glucoside, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract, Calendula officinalis (calendula) flower extract, Humulus lupulus (hops) extract, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Parfum (fragrance), Benzoic acid, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Dehydroacetic acid, Sodium hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Coumarin, Citric acid, Potassium sorbate, Glycine soja (soybean) oil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrendous product. I bought this before Christmas and only opened this morning. What have you done! It is horrendous, sticky - had to wash it off immediately, so glad I hadn't rubbed it over my eyes (as I always used to do). It foamed when I put it on the cotton pad, should have been a sign. You need to go back to how it was because THIS change is NOT GOOD. First you changed the Moisturiser now the tonic. Afraid I'm off to Elemis. PS my daughter can't get on with it either

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful I have used this for 20 years and now it's completely different. It's slimy sticky and dries my skin. It also foams up. I hate it. Just managed to get 2 original off eBay. Why on earth do you change things for the worse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Disappointed-this product has changed, feels sticky on skin. Will use what I have but unless Liz Earle look at this product again I will not be te-purchasing Been a user of Liz Earle products for years and I feel you need to listen to what your customers are saying-why change a brilliant product? I would rather pay a little more than re-pirchase the product in this formulation. I think my review echos many others-we can’t all be wrong!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What have you done?! I have used Liz Earle for years and always recommended to friends and family. Every birthday and Christmas my partner buys me a massive set and it usually last me a good few months, having just run out of the skin boost tonic I opened my new one from Christmas this evening to find that it’s completely changed! I had to check the packaging again to make sure I hadn’t foolishly picked up a cleanser as the cotton pad foamed up upon application and left my skin feeling sticky and tight. I thought maybe I had a dodgy bottle so googled it and found comment after comment of many other loyal Liz Earle customers saying the same and finding that the ingredients and formula which we once all love having been changed! I am completely devastated and slightly perplexed why this has been done and the #ifitsnotbrokedontfixit sums the whole saga up pretty well. Guess I’ll have to find myself a new skincare collection …

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Love Liz Earle products & have used them for many years but slightly disappointed in the changes made to the skin tonic. Liquid is very soapy & skin doesn't feel as cleansed as it would have after using the original skin tonic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why??!! I read the reviews but thought, surely it can’t have changed that much. Well Sadly I was wrong. It used to be my favourite toner and now it’s some weird foamy texture that does nothing for my skin! Why LE changed this formula I have no idea.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the same Product has changed, leaves sticky residue on face.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oh dear! Just opened my new shaped bottle - missed the lovely fragrance - then out came some soapy slimy liquid. Yuck - - did I have a dodgy bottle ?? Came on here to check what was going on - it appears it’s not just me. Very disappointed- I have been using it for 15 years. What have you done? Won’t be buying it again

Have used this for years, can you please tell me why it now comes in a spray bottle ,I didn't order it as such and it is very wasteful, as far as website is concerned I ordered bottles as shown

Asked by: Lily Kent
I too have used this for years, my latest order was for bottles and that is what I received, albeit the shape of the bottle has changed. Perhaps you were incorrectly sent the wrong bottle?

Is anyone at Liz Earle reading all these negative reviews of IBST and the reviews on QVC?  Will you be considering changing back to formula with PEGs and listening to your loyal customers?  I would love to hear from you.

Asked by: Berat
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. Please rest assured that we in the customer centre team collate and feedback all feedback from our customers, both positive and negative. We have been trying to make improvements to the products you love and we acknowledge this has resulted in a change to the sensorial experience of Instant Boost™ Skin Tonic. We understand how important this product experience is to you, and we are working on a solution for this. - The Liz Earle Beauty Co. Team

What's happened to this previously reliable product? I've been this on my rosacea prone skin for 15 years with no problems. New formula has irritated my skin & made my eyes sore. Please give us the option of the old formula!

Asked by: GHarris
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. We are very sorry to hear you have experienced a reaction. All of our formulations are made to be as mild and gentle as possible and all products are assessed and approved by independent safety experts prior to placing them on the market. While our recent update to replace PEGs with plant-based alternatives is intended to make the formulation gentler for the majority of our customers, we are aware that every individual is different, and some people can react to ingredients that are gentle for most people, in the same way that some individuals have specific food intolerances. Please do email us at naturallyactive@lizearle.com and include the batch code of the product which can be found on the base, for example - U1234A, and where this was purchased. We look forward to hearing from you. - The Liz Earle Beauty Co. Team

Can LE please be upfront, honest, and transparent about which product formulas have been changed! I am stuck with two 200ml bottles of this that irritate my skin, so much so that I cannot continue to use them! You have lost another loyal customer.

Asked by: Sunni
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. I am pleased to confirm that you can order for delivery to Canada via our website or customer centre. We would recommend double checking with our third party stockists directly to see if this is available. I hope this helps - The Liz Earle Beauty Co. Team

Has your Skin Tonic Formula Changed ? No scent in my bottle at all

Asked by: Angela R
This is a disaster! It began with the superskin concentrate ( I now make my I own in an old rollerball I kept from an original bottle). LE have consistently said contents are unchanged, which is clearly untrue! If I were LE, I'd be ashamed to have my name attached to this now. IBST, Skin repair and superskin concentrate. What's next? I'll not be risking LE products again

I would also like to know whether LE is doing anything about the change in formula given all the negative reviews. It doesn’t look like anything has progressed in the last 2 months when you said you were working on a solution ….

Asked by: Jones92

Most disappointed by the change in formulation of your skin tonic, but even more disappointed that the change is not highlighted on website, which is unethical considering your target customers. Please explain why not. (& cf John Lewis website).
