We’ve always known that there’s more to your skincare routine than achieving a glowing complexion – though don’t get us wrong, it’s still important! For many of us, those twice-daily moments with Cleanse & Polish™ provide pockets of restorative relaxation that make a real difference to wellbeing, as well as our skin. No one feels this more than our Lifestyle Ambassador Sarah Carr, who’s here to show you her top facial massage techniques to take your morning or evening cleanse from functional to a full-on home spa experience.

Benefits of a Facial Massage

Boosts circulation

Facial massages are a great way to boost circulation in your skin. This helps the circulation of nutrients and drains fluid around the face and neck. The extra blood circulation can reduce acne and acne marks. Improved blood flow and help can also help to promote radiant skin to keep you glowing.

Minimises fine lines and wrinkles

Massaging your face can also help you to minimise the appearance of fine lines and smooth skin’s texture. Facial massages can relax the muscles in your face, which can make wrinkles appear less prominent. With the increased blood circulation from the massage, your collagen production can be boosted too, helping the skin to appear firmer and plumper.

A step-by-step guide to a relaxing facial massage

For a relaxing massage you can either use your favourite facial oil or have an extra step of luxury with your Superskin™ Advanced Nourishing Cleansing Balm. Warm up your facial oil or cleanser in your hands and use gentle pressure to massage your face. Work in circular motions, beginning with the lymph area and work your way out to the sides of your face. Move to the forehead by placing your knuckles between your eyebrows, then move up towards the hairline and out to your temples. Finish your relaxing facial massage by massaging your cheeks, and jawline working out and down towards your neck.
