Aloe Vera

ALOE VERA
(Aloe barbadensis)

Featuring formidable hydrating, soothing and cooling properties, our aloe vera is harvested in the morning to maximise the amount of juice the sword-shaped fronds yield, before being freeze-dried to create a powder.

Cornflower

CORNFLOWER EXTRACT
(Centaurea cyanus)

Used for its soothing and cooling properties, we source our cornflower from Europe, where we extract our ingredient from the rich blue flowers of the plant.

Eyebright

EYEBRIGHT EXTRACT
(Euphrasia officinalis)

Legendary for its soothing and refreshing properties, and rich in tannins, flavonoids and glycosides, our eyebright is harvested in Bulgaria, where the aerial parts of the plant are macerated in water for 7 days to create our extract.

Witch Hazel

WITCH HAZEL WATER
(Hamamelis virginiana)

Legendary for its soothing and toning properties, witch hazel is native to the eastern coast of North America, and our witch hazel water is distilled from the chopped, macerated leaves of the flowering shrub.

Aqua (water), Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-10-caprylate, Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) flower extract, Euphrasia officinalis extract, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl glucoside, Panthenol, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric acid, Sodium hydroxide, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle & effective Recently started to suffer from rather sensitive skin around eyes. This is a gentle and effective cleanser with no after effects!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I’m so sad So this has been a holy grail product for me and have recommended it to so many as it was my opinion there wasn’t any else like it on the market. The old bottle that was more beige in colour contained a product that was the most soothing thing I have ever put on my eyes and had an amazing and unique natural scent. I’m so sad that now it is nothing special. I would re purchase. I just don’t understand why LE has changed the formula of this and the skin tonic, surely it can only be too save them money?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why change something that’s not broken! I’m very disappointed with the new eye bright. What was once a lovely refreshing eye soother, it now stings my very sensitive eyes. I will have to look elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eye Bright formula change I have to agree with some previous reviews that the change in ingredients for this product is not for the better. Whilst the previous eye bright was very gentle on my eyes I find that this new one also causes some stinging and redness. It now seems to be more of an eye makeup remover, although not terribly effective on some mascaras. Much prefer the old one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great soothing eye lotion I always use Eyebright, it is so soothing, cooling and refreshing to the eyes especially when your eye are tired or sore. Early in the morning is especially beneficial, to soak two cotton wool pads and place on the eyes for five minutes works wonders. I would definitely recommend and have used this product for years and it's a lovely favourite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't be without Been using this in combination with cleanse and polish and toner for years. Really refreshing. Get loads of compliments re how nice my skin is (age 70)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Can't be without this. The first thing that I do in the morning is put this on a cotton pad and wipe over my eyes. Instantly feel more awake and refreshed. Also use at night after cleanse and polish and it refreshes and removes any last traces of eye makeup.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why have you changed it? Used to love this product, it smelled amazing and was so soothing. The new formula is stingy and smells horrible. Won’t be purchasing again. Such a shame when you mess with great products.

I understand that the packaging has changed, the content surely can’t be the same formula though? I have purchased one full size and two of the smaller size in the new packaging and the product now has no odour. Prior it smelt beautiful

Why have you changed it, it was so good before. Please change it back to the original

Why has the colour of the plastic changed on the eyebright bottle?  I wear glasses and I cannot differentiate between the toner and eyebright without them.  If only it had been left the original colour and I much preferred the old dispensing bottle.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. We are on a journey to improve the sustainability of our packaging, and for this reason have chosen to move our instant Boost™ Skin Tonic and Eyebright™ Soothing Eye Cleanser to new bottles that can be made using 50% post-consumer recycled plastics. The new bottles are the same size as the old, so contain just as much of your trusted formulas, only with a new look! We are sorry to hear that you cannot differentiate between the two bottles, please rest assured that we have passed on your feedback to our Packaging Team. - The Liz Earle Beauty Co. Team

Why does the eyebright soother eye cleanser have a warning about getting into eyes. Surely some of it must get into eyes when cleaning.

Asked by: Lyne
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. As we update our packaging to be more eco-conscious, we are also taking the opportunity to add warnings onto our packs. This change does not mean that our products have become any less kind to the skin, but is instead to bring us in line with latest industry guidelines on good safety practice. I do hope this helps! - The Liz Earle Beauty Co. Team

Why did you have to change a brilliant winning formula for something that is clearly different and inferior, despite all your protestations that it’s the same product. I hope it’s worth losing your old customers for a very poor update!

Asked by: Former liz Earle customer
Hi, thanks for getting in touch! We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with our Eyebright Soothing Eye Cleanser. We can confirm that this product still contains the same key ingredients, which are included at the same levels. However, we made the decision to remove the PEGs (which stablise the formulation) as we are aware that some customers prefer to avoid these. This has been replaced with a milder, more gentle alternative. I would like to assure you that we value all feedback, favourable or otherwise, as it helps us to maintain our high level of customer service and satisfaction. Comments from customers really help us when considering future improvements, so I will certainly pass on your comments to our Formulations team for future consideration. I hope this information helps however, if you do require any further assistance, please reach out to our Customer Centre by calling 01983 813913 or email naturallyactive@lizearle.com

Would I use this product before or after my Hot Cloth cleanser Polish?

Asked by: Shoeaddict88
Hi, thanks for getting in touch! As our Cleanse & Polish is gentle enough to use on the eye area, we would recommend using this first, then follow with our Eyebright Soothing Eye Cleanser, as this will gently cleanse, refresh and soothe your eyes. If you're using this for the first time, as with all our products, we would recommend that you carry out a patch test first. I hope this information helps however, if you do require any further assistance, please reach out to our Customer Centre by calling 01983 813913 or email naturallyactive@lizearle.com

Is this the same as the eye bright lotion?

Asked by: TeamT9876
Hello, thank you for getting in touch. We can confirm that we made the decision to update the name of our Eye Bright because, while our existing customers understand how to use the formula, we felt this name (Eye Bright Soothing Eye lotion) may be confusing for those that are new to the brand, as this product does not have a typical ‘lotion’ texture. We therefore decided that calling this a soothing cleanser was more true to multi-functional benefits of our product, which is that it both cleanses, but also provides soothing relief to tired eyes, making it a perfect partner for both AM and PM use. We can confirm that we have removed PEGs in order to improve the formulation and ensure product integrity standards compliance, and replaced them with a more gentle alternative. While this change will make the formulation gentler for the majority of customers, there is a small chance that some customers may find that the old version was more suitable for their particular skin. With this in mind, we recommend patch testing before using. We do hope this information helps. - Liz Earle Beauty Co.
