Aloe Vera

(Aloe barbadensis)

Featuring formidable hydrating, soothing and cooling properties, our aloe vera is harvested in the morning to maximise the amount of juice the sword-shaped fronds yield, before being freeze-dried to create a powder.

(Centaurea cyanus)

Used for its soothing and cooling properties, we source our cornflower from Europe, where we extract our ingredient from the rich blue flowers of the plant.

(Euphrasia officinalis)

Legendary for its soothing and refreshing properties, and rich in tannins, flavonoids and glycosides, our eyebright is harvested in Bulgaria, where the aerial parts of the plant are macerated in water for 7 days to create our extract.

Witch Hazel

(Hamamelis virginiana)

Legendary for its soothing and toning properties, witch hazel is native to the eastern coast of North America, and our witch hazel water is distilled from the chopped, macerated leaves of the flowering shrub.

Aqua (water), Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-10-caprylate, Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) flower extract, Euphrasia officinalis extract, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl glucoside, Panthenol, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric acid, Sodium hydroxide, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Eye lotion So disappointed this formula has changed. I have been using eyebright lotion for years, unfortunately since using new formula my eyes have become sore, streaming and red. Why change what was a perfectly good eye lotion? Please listen to reviews, this has also occurred with toner, again have used this for years, but new formula isn't as good, my skin much prefers the original version. Please please go back to original version, I don't think I will continue using any longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A change for the worse I’ve used ‘Eyebright’ for years. The new formula is not as nice - it smells like plain witch hazel and it now stings. The bottle is an inferior design. It doesn’t dispense as well as the old type and it is fiddly to open. Why not use the recycled materials in the old design?

Why did you have to change a brilliant winning formula for something that is clearly different and inferior, despite all your protestations that it’s the same product. I hope it’s worth losing your old customers for a very poor update!

Totally agree   This was an amazing formula that no longer works and has just frustrated loyal buyers that have been with you many decades .

Is this the same as the eye bright lotion?

Asked by: TeamT9876
Hello, thank you for getting in touch. We can confirm that we made the decision to update the name of our Eye Bright because, while our existing customers understand how to use the formula, we felt this name (Eye Bright Soothing Eye lotion) may be confusing for those that are new to the brand, as this product does not have a typical ‘lotion’ texture. We therefore decided that calling this a soothing cleanser was more true to multi-functional benefits of our product, which is that it both cleanses, but also provides soothing relief to tired eyes, making it a perfect partner for both AM and PM use. We can confirm that we have removed PEGs in order to improve the formulation and ensure product integrity standards compliance, and replaced them with a more gentle alternative. While this change will make the formulation gentler for the majority of customers, there is a small chance that some customers may find that the old version was more suitable for their particular skin. With this in mind, we recommend patch testing before using. We do hope this information helps. - Liz Earle Beauty Co.
