CHICORY
(Cichorium intybus)
Sustainably grown on an organic farm in France, chicory is a natural prebiotic with skin-soothing properties. It has been used as a traditional herbal remedy for both skin and digestive health for hundreds of years.
JOJOBA OIL
(Simmondsia chinensis)
One of the skin’s most naturally compatible oils, jojoba promotes a healthy-looking glow without clogging pores. The jojoba shrub we source is native to the Sonoran Desert in the US, and Patagonian Desert in Argentina.
LUNARIA
(Lunaria annua)
Lunaria oil is naturally rich in skin-compatible fatty acids, and is known to nourish and provide long-lasting hydration. Our lunaria is grown on 2 farms in Lincolnshire & Essex and is recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society for benefitting local insect populations.
FERMENTED OATS
(Avena sativa)
Sustainably grown in Sweden and Finland, the oats we use are specially selected for their higher levels of Beta Glucan, a fibre known to help soothe and improve the appearance of skin. Our oats are fermented to produce a unique strain of Lactobacillus (friendly bacteria).

So soothing
I have used cleanse and polish for many years.but have lately developed facial erythema that is as yet un diagnosed. It has made my face very sensitive and whilst doing tests for possible allergens, rosemary came up as a sensitivity. It is not the cause of my issues but I was told my skin needed gentle treatment. I saw the probiotic range and found the cleanser so gentle and soothing. No issues around eye area and sore areas feel calmer. I hope this range continues it is wonderful.

Love the smell
I see lots of reviews complaining about the smell, I love it! It's natural and just smells of oats. My very sensitive skin loves this and it's difficult to find a product that doesn't irritate my rosacea. Please don't change the formula.

Pro Biotic Balancing Day Cream
Bought this for 1st time as superskin moisturiser was running out. Really pleased with it.No stung at all.Feels light.and not greasy,, soaks into skin. Oat is strong smelling but got used to it quickly.A little bit goes a long way & much cheaper than all the alternatives. It’s a .👍🏻 Up from me!!

Light moisturiser
Chose this moisturiser as I needed a light weight tube rather than heavy glass jar for travelling. It feels nice & light on my skin. But the oaty smell of it, as others have mentioned, does put me off buying it again I'm afraid.

Smells like wet dog
I’m toying with whether to send this back or not. It’s a great cream once on but I can’t get used to this smell. I’ve been wondering what it reminds me of and I’ve realised it’s a wet dog smell. So strange! Not at all oaty.

Perfect for sensitive skin
I suffer from rosacea and from time to time it reminds me to take better care of it !! The winter time seems worse for any flare ups and I always make sure I've got a supply of probiotic products in stock. This day cream is instantly cooling and if necessary I use it several times a day. Like others I wasn't keen on smell of it but dont notice it anymore.

Hi there. Would this be good for combination/oily skin which is very prone to breakouts, particularly hormonal ones?
It is a very gentle and lightweight cream which helped me when I have had hormonal breakouts and sensitivity. The cream helps calm stressed skin and I found that using all three products in the pro-biotic range definitely improved my skin.

I notice there is no eye product in the range and no warning to avoid eye area on products (I’m using cleanser, day and night cream). Does this mean products are suitable for eye area? Without getting in eyes obviously!. Thanks for your help.

Whilst our Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream is suited to those with dry, sensitive, reactive-feeling skin types looking for an ultra-gentle, deeply hydrating day cream, we would suggest using a cream that has been specifically formulated for the eyes around the eye area. The skin around the eyes is finer than on the rest of the face and so eye creams tend to be lightweight formulations that have been developed to tackle the specific concerns of the delicate eye area, allowing for effective skin absorption without causing puffiness. We would therefore always recommend a dedicated eye cream is used on this area.

Is this cream suitable for skin with acne rosacea? I currently use the light cream but i get many flare ups…
I can have sensitive skin but found this fine to use. Felt my skin was smoother using it and I know some can find the smell off putting but it disappears once the cream is absorbed which is pretty quick. I would suggest trying it as customer service is very good if things are unsuitable. Hope that helps

If you’re already using other Liz Earle products then you can absolutely mix and match to use our Pro-biotic Balancing Range as part of your routine, particularly suitable for when skin is sensitive, dry or reactive-feeling (for example due to the effects of weather/temperature changes, hormonal imbalances or lack of sleep and stress on skin).

Does the day cream contain an SPF, this is a must for sensitive skin like mine…

Whilst our Pro-Biotic Day Cream does not contain an SPF, we will certainly pass on your suggestion to our Formulations team for consideration.
You may wish to consider adding our Environmental Skin Defence Cream to your morning routine. This provides mineral SPF 25 protection against both UVA and UVB rays while also acting as a shield against pollution and blue light, which many make up formulas will not provide. The universally tinted lightweight cream can also be used as a primer, so it works well as a base for your make up; giving you a healthy-looking glow while protecting skin.
As with all our products, we would recommend that you carry out a patch test first.

Will this cream be replacing the Superskin moisturiser? Is it as suitable for sensitive skin as the Superskin unfragranced moisturiser?

Our Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream has been formulated to help strengthen skin`s moisture barrier, leaving very sensitive, dehydrated and reactive skin looking calmer and healthier. However, it's not intended to be a substitute for our unfragranced Superskin Moisturiser and if your skin is particularly dry then you may wish to continue using our Superskin Moisturiser.
