Our high-performance, colour-safe shampoo gently cleanses hair and scalp without stripping for healthy-looking, tangle-free locks. With naturally derived cleansers, hair is left feeling smooth, soft and silky.
This universal shampoo is enriched with shea butter to moisturise and soften, and shine-boosting apple and orange extracts. Hair is left touchably soft and delicately scented with a blend of fragrant essential oils.

SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.
ALOE VERA
(Aloe barbadensis)
Featuring formidable hydrating, soothing and cooling properties, our aloe vera is harvested in the morning to maximise the amount of juice the sword-shaped fronds yield, before being freeze-dried to create a powder.
APPLE FRUIT EXTRACT
(Pyrus malus x domestica)
Used for its ability to smooth and promote shine, we source our apples an award-winning organic farm in the heart of Herefordshire, England, where herbs have been grown and processed for 30 years. The farm has twice been the winner of the Silver Lapwing, the UK’s leading environmental and farming award.

Great shampoo and a little goes a long way.
This is one of my most favourite shampoos. It leaves hair and scalp feeling clean and yet not stripped of all oils and other good things. So little shampoo is needed to work up a good lather, that a tube lasts for a very long time.

Great product
I've been using this shampoo for about 20 years although the formula has changed several times over that time. I've got fine, short hair, still a bit greasy despite advanced years. My husband uses it too, we keep it in the shower. I think it's a great product because it's gentle and doesn't contain the foaming agent SLS like so many products do. That's why I first bought it all those years ago. It doesn't matter that you don't get a huge amount of lather, just follow the instructions given by Liz Earle in the feedback comments. I then use a tiny bit of the Liz Earle conditioner on the ends and that's it. Shiny hair.

Super Shampoo 👌
This Shampoo is so luxurious and it smells lovely and fresh. I live in a hard water area which means you need to use more of a product such as Shampoo to get a good lather but not with this Shampoo, i only need to use a small amount.

Awful new formula
I’ve been using this shampoo for years and was always very happy with it. The new formula is however terrible. I have to alternate with another brand otherwise I have build up and my hair feels greasy and lank. This bottle has also broken and left the nib stuck in the hole so getting anything out is doubly painful. Would have liked to just throw it in the bin but I hate waste (one of the reasons for buying an eco product in the first place). Will have to switch brands

Great all round product.
I have used this shampoo for several years now. It is so good. I am mature and have very fine hair. It is gentle but is most efficient at cleaning my hair and scalp.

A good shampoo!
I know other people give this shampoo poor reviews but I've used it for a few years and as long as I rub the shampoo between my wet hands and my hair is properly wet, it lathers well and makes my hair feel very clean. I use it everyday.

On your responses to the reviews about the change in formula, botanicals are not available & your product team have worked hard on the new formula, how can this be when there is such a dramatic change, I left a bad review and will return the product.
I noticed a difference, but I had no idea they changed the shampoo!!! I'm going to pay attention now!

Why did you only ask a few (only 2O) of your loyal customers to try the reformulated shampoo? The constant negative reviews are a reflection of your poor trial of the shampoo.
Unfortunately you asked the wrong 84% of customers going by the negative reviews. I didn’t know formula had changed and hair was dry/ straw texture. Will not be using this again. Will say I still like the conditioner.

You have stated the reason for changing the formula of your bestselling shampoo is because the ingredients are difficult to source? I suspect the true reason for the drastic change in formula is cheaper, poor quality ingredients and profit for the company
They probably need all the profit they can get , due to all the awful changes that have been made to most of the products. All the lovely spray oils , and bath oils ! Gone… All of the Energising body products! Gone…The Shampoo in its original formula , all gone !! Liz Earle never needed to have sales , when Liz still owned the company, but they do now !!

Is this shampoo sulphate free

Hi I have used Liz Earle shampoo for many years,however the new Botanical shine shampoo is awful and this is such a shame. I feel you really need to listen to all the negative reviews and re look at this shampoo as you will definitely loose customers.
I agree too, I have tried to persevere but I won’t be buying anymore, not just because it strips my hair but because it’s too thick and with arthritis in my hands I struggle to squeeze it out of the tube. Very sad to have to find an alternative after so many years 😢

What is the difference between this and the original shampoo in terms of ingredients?

Whilst our Botanical Shine Shampoo is a brand new product, the naturally active ingredients within this formulation are the same as our original, with improved traceability. A full ingredients list of all our products can be found on our website.
We also have a great 60 day returns policy, should you find any products purchased with us direct unsuitable.
