Our high-performance, colour-safe shampoo gently cleanses hair and scalp without stripping for healthy-looking, tangle-free locks. With naturally derived cleansers, hair is left feeling smooth, soft and silky.
This universal shampoo is enriched with shea butter to moisturise and soften, and shine-boosting apple and orange extracts. Hair is left touchably soft and delicately scented with a blend of fragrant essential oils.

SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.
ALOE VERA
(Aloe barbadensis)
Featuring formidable hydrating, soothing and cooling properties, our aloe vera is harvested in the morning to maximise the amount of juice the sword-shaped fronds yield, before being freeze-dried to create a powder.
APPLE FRUIT EXTRACT
(Pyrus malus x domestica)
Used for its ability to smooth and promote shine, we source our apples an award-winning organic farm in the heart of Herefordshire, England, where herbs have been grown and processed for 30 years. The farm has twice been the winner of the Silver Lapwing, the UK’s leading environmental and farming award.

Disappointing
I have used the old shampoo for years, so was full of trepidation when I found out it had been changed. Worst fears confirmed. The very first bottle the shampoo wouldn’t come out of the hole as the shampoo is much thicker and the hole not big enough. Got over that by making it bigger but hate the feel of this new one, like jelly, and my hair, as other customers have said before, feels like straw! No idea why a once good product has to be changed unless it’s cheaper to produce? Will have to find another product.

Awful!
I used to use this shampoo for the whole family, but the new formula is awful. It doesn’t leave hair washed well, fresh or fine looking. It’s sticky and gooey. Even my children have commented on it. Absolutely awful. So sad as the original formula was so good. Bring back the original please.

New formula is no good
I used the original liz for years. The new firmula tangles hair. It bears no resemblence to the original. You brought back eye bright and toner after changing them. There is no reason why you cannot do this again. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS.

I have used this shampoo at least twice a month over the past 2 years. It leaves my hair squeaky clean, soft and shiny. My scalp does not itch from regular use of this Liz Earle shampoo. That cannot be said for other types of shampoo I have used.

Not impressed!
I have used the Liz Earle shampoo before and loved it, so thought I would treat myself to one, when they came on offer. After using it the first couple of times, I assumed that my hair was feeling straw like because of a conditioner I was using up, however after using it now for a number of weeks, I can confirm that after using this shampoo, my hair feels like straw! I decided to check the reviews online as I wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same effect and was comforted to know that it wasn't just in my imagination. It seems like Liz Earle have changed the formula! Such a shame as the old shampoo was so nice. I don't think I will be buying this again, it is only because the conditioner is good that I can get a comb through it.

Brightens hair like no other

Not my favourite
I have been using this since the previous shampoo was discontinued so have given it a quite a long time to test it out, I am not that impressed. I have to use more of the product than I did with the old one to clean my hair and it feels quite dry after washing so I have to use more of the conditioner to soften it and make it feel less straw like. I dont have dry hair but it feels like i do every time I wash it.

Why did you only ask a few (only 2O) of your loyal customers to try the reformulated shampoo? The constant negative reviews are a reflection of your poor trial of the shampoo.
Unfortunately you asked the wrong 84% of customers going by the negative reviews. I didn’t know formula had changed and hair was dry/ straw texture. Will not be using this again. Will say I still like the conditioner.

You have stated the reason for changing the formula of your bestselling shampoo is because the ingredients are difficult to source? I suspect the true reason for the drastic change in formula is cheaper, poor quality ingredients and profit for the company
They probably need all the profit they can get , due to all the awful changes that have been made to most of the products. All the lovely spray oils , and bath oils ! Gone… All of the Energising body products! Gone…The Shampoo in its original formula , all gone !! Liz Earle never needed to have sales , when Liz still owned the company, but they do now !!

Is this shampoo sulphate free

On your responses to the reviews about the change in formula, botanicals are not available & your product team have worked hard on the new formula, how can this be when there is such a dramatic change, I left a bad review and will return the product.
84% said they would change to the new formula ?? Forget your panel results and read the reviews on here. The shampoo is awful but will say the conditioner is still nice.

Hi I have used Liz Earle shampoo for many years,however the new Botanical shine shampoo is awful and this is such a shame. I feel you really need to listen to all the negative reviews and re look at this shampoo as you will definitely loose customers.
I agree too, I have tried to persevere but I won’t be buying anymore, not just because it strips my hair but because it’s too thick and with arthritis in my hands I struggle to squeeze it out of the tube. Very sad to have to find an alternative after so many years 😢

What is the difference between this and the original shampoo in terms of ingredients?

Whilst our Botanical Shine Shampoo is a brand new product, the naturally active ingredients within this formulation are the same as our original, with improved traceability. A full ingredients list of all our products can be found on our website.
