This unique fragrance opens with fresh top notes of Italian bergamot, mandarin and bitter orange, unfolding to reveal a heart of lavender, geranium and Damask rose. With a base including spicy patchouli, vetiver and tonka bean absolute, the complex blend of Botanical Essence™ No.1 translates into warmth and sensuality on the skin.
Over 98% derived from natural ingredients, Botanical Essence™ No.1 has been skilfully blended by the distinguished perfumer, Jean-Charles Niel in Grasse, France.

Renowned for its dreamy, sensual fragrance – a key note in our Botanical Essence™ fine fragrances, we source our Damask roses from a family-run farm in Isparta, Turkey.

Pleasantly surprised!

A long term favourite!!
This was the first Liz Earle perfume I tried and I still love it❤️ I’ve gone on to try others, all of which I use regularly, but this one always has to be replaced quickly! I use it to ‘layer’ with the others as it adds a fresh vibrant note.ALL your perfumes are long lasting, and a little goes a long way, so the recent offer was great value.

Essence #1. The most beaitiful.
I love this essence. I am very fussy about perfumes because I suffer from migraine, but this and Chanel No.5 are my choices 24/7. I’ve worn this perfume for years and sadly I had to return a bottle earlier this year as it did not smell at all like No 1
I bought another bottle when it was on offer in March and I’m so very pleased to say it smells more like the original.
Having spoken to customer service about my concerns when I returned the first bottle of No1 I was told that the No1 had been modified according to EU legislation and some ingredients had been removed.
The No1 perfume is my signature scent and although it doesn’t have the same staying power as the original I’m happy that this bottle at least smells the same as the original.

Disappointed in No 1 perfume
I love Liz Earle products and fragrance but definitely not No1 which is probably a personal choice. I had a fragrance card with it on when I visited the Ryde shop when on holiday and thought I would have a change to my normal No 100 which is my all time favourite! Having sent for it definitely didn’t smell as on the fragrance card so very disappointed.

Unusual but very pleasing scent

Uplifting scent
I love this perfume, it's my signature day time scent. If you like citrus notes then you will love this. Think summer in a bottle. Makes me smile every morning and when i need an energy boost or to lift my mood a refresh in the afternoon does just that. No other perfume comes close for me and i wouldn't be without it.

Is this the new No 1 perfume with different ingredients?

We have maintained the current botanicals within our fragrance so that the finish of the scent you know and love remains unchanged. However, we have needed to tweak the parfum of Botanical Essence™ No.1 slightly to comply to updated European regulations.
We do have a great 60 day returns policy, should you find any products you purchase with us direct, unsuitable.
