COCOA BUTTER
(Theobroma cacao)
Famous for its excellent emollient properties, we source our cocoa butter from West Africa, where fermented beans of the cocoa tree are roasted, cracked and ground to give a powdery solid called cocoa mass, from which cocoa butter is pressed.
ROSEMARY EXTRACT
(Rosmarinus officinalis)
Used for its antioxidant properties, we source our rosemary from Spain, where the extract is filtered from the needle-shaped leaves of the plant.
CHAMOMILE EXTRACT
(Anthemis nobilis)
Legendary for its skin-soothing properties, the flowers of this aromatic perennial are harvested in England in the summer, before the ingredient is solvent extracted from the fragrant flower.
EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL
(Eucalyptus globulus)
Renowned for its purifying properties and invigorating aroma, we source our eucalyptus from China, where our essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the fast-growing eucalyptus tree.

Versatile cleanser

Great cleanser
I first tried cleanse and polish through birch box. I fell in love with how thoroughly it cleans all my makeup off. The scent is so soothing and I never feel dry afterwards. I fells like it leaves my skin so clean and never dry. I alway buy several of the large cleanser at a time because the price is so reasonable. I was super disappointed when they stopped shipping to the United States during the pandemic. But I recently was able to purchase again and bought several because I do not want to run out. The packaging is so nice, when I receive the product it feels like I spent a fortune. I know they take pride in their product. I have not found a better cleanser for my face - I will continue to buy this as long as they sell it!!!! I absolutely love it!!!

I really do think it has helped to keep my 66 year old skin reasonably presentable and I love the routine of hot cloth cleansing, morning and evening.....please don’t ever change the ‘original’ fragrance Cleanse & Polish !

This has been absolutely brilliant. I suffered with red patches on my face for a long time but once I started using the cleanser and cloth, the patches have disappeared over the years. For my age my skin is very good and clear.

"COCOA BUTTER SADLY CLOGS PORES"!!!!!
Firstly I love all Liz Earle products and have used on a regular basis but the Cleanse & Polish I am so sorry to say after going back and forth to it just causes break outs. I didn't realise that Cocoa Butter is highly comedogenic which unfortunately for us guys & gals that are prone to break outs/acne prone skin is a no no. If the cocoa butter was replaced with shea butter for instance (non-comedogenic) you would have a happier skin its a shame as you can pick a specific moisturiser for your skin type but not your cleanser.

Amazing Hot Cloth Cleanser
I heard so much about Hot Cloth Cleansers. Went to Liz Earle at boots and tried. I was amazed how clean fresh n hydrated my skin felt. I was in love with it right away. After checking ingredients I was little put off because it contained a chemical Polyaminopropyl biguanide. Problem sorted by other versions of Hot Cloth cleanser from Liz Earle. They don’t contain this chemical. Please remove this chemical from original one. People like me who don’t use chemicals can use it without compromising. Apart from this Cleanser smells divine I am in Love. A must try.

I have been using Liz Earle for some years(original) but bought c/p from qvc orange flower, it was a good offer but that’s where it ended. The result is a spotty complexion, and as I bought it to stock pile I am unable to return it

What is the PH level?
Hello
We can confirm that all of our products are pH balanced; most of the range is balanced to around 5.5, which is the skin’s normal pH. This means that they are neither too alkaline or too acidic for the skin. How long does a 200ml of Cleanse & Polish last?

Is this product gluten free?
I see it contains hops. Is this gluten and wheat free?

While we can confirm which products include wheat as an intentional ingredient, without completing a full assessment of the entire supply chain we are unable to offer a full list of products that are free from wheat (so our products may not be suitable for someone with coeliac disease, for example, depending on how serious their allergy is). As a common sense precaution we would always recommend a 24 hour patch test is conducted prior to the first use of any new skincare product.

Do you have to use the cloth to remove the product?
Can I use large cotton pads run under hot water to remove instead of the reusable cloth?

Can you take the cleanser off with the skin tonic or do you advise water first?
For example if you have had a skin peel and should refrain from using water.
For best results we would advise gently removing our Cleanse & Polish with water and the pure cotton cloth. However, if you are unable to use water for any reason then you may wish to try using our Instant Boost Skin Tonic as a temporary alternative. We hope this helps.

How long would a 30ml (travel size) tube of cleanse and polish last?
I'm going away for 10 days and looking to travel light. Assuming I only used it once a day does anyone have any idea how many uses I could get out of a 30ml tube of cleanse and polish?
I've found it contains enough for two weeks, using it twice a day. If you're only using it once a day for ten days, you'll certainly have plenty left over.
