CHICORY
(Cichorium intybus)
Sustainably grown on an organic farm in France, chicory is a natural prebiotic with skin-soothing properties. It has been used as a traditional herbal remedy for both skin and digestive health for hundreds of years.
JOJOBA OIL
(Simmondsia chinensis)
One of the skin’s most naturally compatible oils, jojoba promotes a healthy-looking glow without clogging pores. The jojoba shrub we source is native to the Sonoran Desert in the US, and Patagonian Desert in Argentina.
LUNARIA
(Lunaria annua)
Lunaria oil is naturally rich in skin-compatible fatty acids, and is known to nourish and provide long-lasting hydration. Our lunaria is grown on 2 farms in Lincolnshire & Essex and is recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society for benefitting local insect populations.
FERMENTED OATS
(Avena sativa)
Sustainably grown in Sweden and Finland, the oats we use are specially selected for their higher levels of Beta Glucan, a fibre known to help soothe and improve the appearance of skin. Our oats are fermented to produce a unique strain of Lactobacillus (friendly bacteria).

Amazing stuff

Fantastic cream
Absolutely love this cream, it glides on like a dream, it is so soft and my skin feels so hydrated and fresh. It’s so light but my skin felt hydrated all day without needing more throughout the day. Highly recommended, I brought some for my mum as well I’m that impressed.

I think this is a lovely cream that has made my skin feel smooth. It isn't greasy and rubs in well, however the downside is the smell, it really let's it down as the cream works. The smell disperses quicky, but when applying it's all I think of.

Hydrating and effective.
This is a good hydrating day cream for my (slightly) combination skin. I apply after my serums and apply is small circular motions across my face and neck. The cream absorbs well and my skin feels hydrated all day. This is a very good base before my make up and prevents any clumps of my foundation.
The only downside is the smell of the cream isn't the nicest but I suppose that is personal preference.

Good moisturizer
I got this cream two weeks agi. It's a nice , clean , simple packaging. The cream is good, consistency just right, not too runny. You only need small amount to cover the whole face. It absorbs very well and doesn't leave greasy skin. My only complain is the smell. Indeed once put on fingers it has a bit (to my liking )off putting smell, which disappears and changes into this oaty, milky kind of smell , however initially there's something off putting about it. It also says packaging is 50% recyclable, would be nice to have fully recyclable.

Very gentle and hydrating day cream
This is one of the best creams I've ever used. I have very sensitive skin, so finding a decent cream that actually works for me is difficult. This one feels amazing and it’s so gentle. It keeps my skin well balanced with a healthy look. The consistency is so light and smooth, and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly hydrated. It simply absorb into my skin and leave no residues. I’m using this cream on a regular basis and have already noticed an improvement on my skin. I would definitely recommend this amazing cream to anyone.

I brought this cream for my mother as she has very dry skin, and the results are amazing. My father complimented my mum already.. if she went to a salon.. he wasn’t sure how come her skin was looking very smooth.. amazing cream.. works like magic. The best cream with quick results.. Game changer
I love it. Since the old moisturisers were discontinued I missed out for such a long time but this is so calming and does not upset or give me any breakouts, it’s just the right consistency and I use this morning and evening. It has no scent but an oaty smell which I like. It feels like it is doing your skin good! Highly recommend.

I’ve been using Liz Earle products for a long time and usually stick to the basics as they suit my skin. However, it’s always interesting to try new products. The
Pro-biotic balancing day cream came as part of a package, so I thought i’d try it. Firstly, although unscented, the initial smell on application is rather unpleasant - though it doesn’t linger. I haven’t noticed any dramatic changes to my complexion, although my skin does feel moisturised and calm. I will probably return to the skin repair light as it’s very pleasant to use and I’m a creature of habit!

Gentle and nourishing

I’ve been using this for 3 months and have not noticed any improvement to the dry patches on my face. It applies well but I do not find it moisturising and the smell is off putting for a fragrance free product.

Probiotic Day Cream
Due to the fact you have changed the formula of your skin repair cream that I have been happily using for more than 20 years and that the new formula irritates my skin causing itching and redness I thought I would try your Probiotjc Cream, big mistake, my skin instantly started to tingle and caused red blotches and dry patches. When I had a reaction to your newly formulated skin repair cream I found after research that’s many, many other women had also suffered the same experience and your response seemed woefully inadequate. Why change something that thousands of people were happy with!! I look forward to your response.

Disappointed
I have been using this product for 5 days and I can no longer use it. My face has reacted badly and I have a red blotchy hot rash and my skin has become drier. I usually purchase the light skin cream and wish I had stuck to this now. I bought this product via John Lewis as I had a voucher to use and have been advised to resolve this with John Lewis therefore, I am still waiting for an outcome. I advise not to buy through a third party.

I have very sensitive skin and unfortunately I developed a rash after using this cream. However, I did find it pleasant to use. To start with, the tube looks attractive and feels expensive! The cream itself doesn’t have a scent, which I really like, as some other similar products are way too overpowering. It was smooth to rub in and required minimal effort, not leaving my skin sticky or tight. For this, I have given it 3 stars.

Lifesaver moisturiser. My skin hasn't felt this calm in years. Supple, no dry sore patches, yet without any greasiness and actually far fewer spots as well. Some people have commented on the smell. Personally it doesn't bother me, a slightly sour smell initially which quickly wears off and the benefits to my skin are so good I couldn't really care less what it smells like! My skin can be highly reactive and it's rare to find something without any added ingredients for something as superficial as making a product smell pretty... More please!!

Moisturising but that smell!
I bought this as I’m now vegan so couldn’t buy my usual. It is a nice cream for my dry skin and leaves it soft all day. Only minus is the weird smell. It’s not really bad but just not pleasant like other creams. Once it’s on though it does go.

Super thick moisturiser for dry sensitive skin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moisturiser is perfect for very dry skin in winter, but I've found it a bit much for on my combination, acne prone areas, so I tend to avoid applying it on my t-zone. But it is such a deep moisturised feeling, especially when my skin is feeling all tight and itchy. It really only takes a very small amount to cover my forehead, cheeks, chin and neck.

Please be assured that the decision to discontinue any product from our collection is not one that we take lightly. We have a lot of love for our products, and much like our customers, we have firm favourites, so we do understand how disappointing it is when one is retired. It may help you to know, that our Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream is still available to purchase. The only difference between the two, is that the night cream contains a higher level of Jojoba oil, so this will feel slightly richer on the skin.

Hi there. Would this be good for combination/oily skin which is very prone to breakouts, particularly hormonal ones?
It is a very gentle and lightweight cream which helped me when I have had hormonal breakouts and sensitivity. The cream helps calm stressed skin and I found that using all three products in the pro-biotic range definitely improved my skin.

I notice there is no eye product in the range and no warning to avoid eye area on products (I’m using cleanser, day and night cream). Does this mean products are suitable for eye area? Without getting in eyes obviously!. Thanks for your help.

Whilst our Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream is suited to those with dry, sensitive, reactive-feeling skin types looking for an ultra-gentle, deeply hydrating day cream, we would suggest using a cream that has been specifically formulated for the eyes around the eye area. The skin around the eyes is finer than on the rest of the face and so eye creams tend to be lightweight formulations that have been developed to tackle the specific concerns of the delicate eye area, allowing for effective skin absorption without causing puffiness. We would therefore always recommend a dedicated eye cream is used on this area.

Is this cream suitable for skin with acne rosacea? I currently use the light cream but i get many flare ups…
I can have sensitive skin but found this fine to use. Felt my skin was smoother using it and I know some can find the smell off putting but it disappears once the cream is absorbed which is pretty quick. I would suggest trying it as customer service is very good if things are unsuitable. Hope that helps

Does the day cream contain an SPF, this is a must for sensitive skin like mine…

Whilst our Pro-Biotic Day Cream does not contain an SPF, we will certainly pass on your suggestion to our Formulations team for consideration.
You may wish to consider adding our Environmental Skin Defence Cream to your morning routine. This provides mineral SPF 25 protection against both UVA and UVB rays while also acting as a shield against pollution and blue light, which many make up formulas will not provide. The universally tinted lightweight cream can also be used as a primer, so it works well as a base for your make up; giving you a healthy-looking glow while protecting skin.

However, it's not intended to be a substitute for our unfragranced Superskin Moisturiser and if your skin is particularly dry then you may wish to continue using our Superskin Moisturiser.
