COCOA BUTTER
(Theobroma cacao)
Famous for its excellent emollient properties, we source our cocoa butter from West Africa, where fermented beans of the cocoa tree are roasted, cracked and ground to give a powdery solid called cocoa mass, from which cocoa butter is pressed.
ROSEMARY EXTRACT
(Rosmarinus officinalis)
Used for its antioxidant properties, we source our rosemary from Spain, where the extract is filtered from the needle-shaped leaves of the plant.
CHAMOMILE EXTRACT
(Anthemis nobilis)

I was recommended by my sister to use the Cleanse & Polish cleanser as I’m 46 and definitely have perimenopausal skin!! Will never use anything else
I first heard about cleanse and polish from the beauty bible I bought in a book sale. I was in my early twenties and used a lot of different cleansers before then. My skin is sensitive and combination so I struggled to get a cleanser that didn't burn my skin. I used to get breakouts too. Since I have been using cleanse and polish I don't get dry patches or spots. I've tried cheaper version of cleanse and polish but after a few washes my skin becomes dry and starts burning. I am now 50 and lots of people tell me I look in my early forties so I like to think good skin care counts. I always use the cleanse and polish with the hot cloth.

Love Love Love this product. I used it for years and for some reason ran out and used store bought products. I noticed a difference in my skin being dry and patchy so went back to the best. Skin cleared nicely and is hydrated. Ill never run out again.

Can't live without it..
I had been buying this for years in the UK, sometimes from the LE stores and often from QVC. I moved to Australia in 2021 thinking I could live without it but soon realised I can't. I love everything about it. I have reactive skin and just can't find anything else that works without causing some sort of skin concern.
I'm so thankful for the international shipping (including the overseas discounts) meaning I can still get this whenever I need it although I tend to stock up to reduce my carbon footprint in postage. My only negative is that I wish it could be made without beeswax in the future.

hot cloth cleanser
Parcel was beautifully packaged and arrived on time. The texture and consistency of the hot cloth cleanser is not as soft as I am used to using, so it might take longer to get used to using it. For me it doesnt glide as easily as I would like so I take extra care around the eye area. It takes a few goes with the cloth to ensure all the product has been removed prior to applying tonic/serum. I try warming the product up in my palms before applying which seems to help a bit for me. Would have preferred the product to be softer in texture, particularly for using around the eye area. I have only been using for about a week so very new to using the product. I will persevere as this product gets great reviews and maybe I just need to get used to using it:) There is another cleanser in the LE range (but not for use in the eye area) which looks as if it could be softer? Might give that one a try.

Disappointing Reformulation
I noticed there was a distinct difference recently with this product. I have used the cleanse and polish for many years and love/recommended it to many people. The new version of the cleanser is grainy, almost like it has not emulisified correctly and is tough to get out of the tube. My skin has also not been as good as it used to be since using this new forumala. I have compared two bottles (one older, one newer) and you can see a difference in the order of ingredients listed and also some different names etc. The same thing happened previously to the skin tonic, and I really hope they revert back to the older formula, like they ended up doing with the skin tonic too!

Has there recently been a change to the formulation of this or your matching toner? This and the toner used to be so good for sensitive skin but I’m finding it is triggering my eczema when it never used to so wanted to enquire whether you’ve changed it?
I have sensitive skin and also have used the tonic for years. I haven’t noticed any change as yet , but I am using tonic that is 6 months old .

Have you recently changed the formula in any way? I've been using this for years and have recently noticed it's not as creamy as before, plus the fragrance doesn't seem as strong
I have been using this for 20 years and I’ve most recently noticed that this is now leaving scum in my sink after use and it never did that before. There must have been a change to some cheaper ingredients for it to do this. The original smell is also changed as it’s lost that eucalyptus scent.

How to useLIZEARLE Naturally active napkin?

Used alongside our Cleanse & Polish, our Pure Cotton Cloths will gently exfoliate the skin. Rinse the cloth under hand-hot water and gently wring it out, then wipe away all traces of cleanser from your skin. Use with circular movements to stimulate the skin, dislodge dead skin cells and lift away impurities and make up. Rinse thoroughly after every use and allow the cloth to air dry naturally. We recommend that you pop them into a 30 degree white wash after every few uses to keep them fresh and clean.

Has this changed, over the last few months I noticed a distinct sludgyness in the consistency, am looking for something else instead. It definitely not as good as it used to be.

Sometimes, due to differing harvesting methods we use along with the different locations and seasons, this can affect the natural plant oils and botanicals we use in our formulations. This may impact the colour, aroma or texture of a formulation. This should only be very minimal though and does not affect the performance of the product.

Our products have been tested in accordance with industry standards and show a minimum shelf life of at least thirty six months. Many specific environmental factors influence the shelf life of a product, which means that we are unable to confirm for how long your Liz Earle product can be stored unopened once it has been despatched to you.
On each of our products you will find the EU standard Period After Opening (PAO) symbol which identifies the 'lifetime' of a product once opened for the first time. It can be used as a guide once your product has been opened. The number inside the image of the pot tells you the number of months of this product's lifetime once opened, for example 9M indicates 9 months.

This deeply cleanses and will gently exfoliate, to reveal clearer-looking skin. Used with the gently exfoliating pure cotton cloth, it lifts away dead skin for a smoother, brighter-looking glow.

Does it matter if I soak the cloth into a cold water instead of hot??
