Primes and protects for visibly healthy-looking skin. Our easily absorbed lightweight cream is formulated with naturally derived mineral UV filters and antioxidant plant extracts to help protect your skin from the elements and prime it for the day ahead.
Our non-comedogenic formula delivers SPF 25 broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays, blue light and pollution while enhancing skin's natural defence barrier.
Enriched with a priming, light reflecting pigment that blends with all skin tones, plus blueberry seed oil, lingonberry seed oil and shea butter, skin is left looking healthy and luminous.

BLUEBERRY SEED OIL
(Vaccinium myrtillus)
High in potent antioxidants, we use blueberry seed oil in our Environmental Defence Cream SPF 25, as it helps the cream work as a natural shield against blue light. Thanks to its high fatty acid composition, it also supports skin’s natural moisture barrier, resulting in hydrated and nourished skin. Sustainably sourced and produced; we extract this ingredient from 100% upcycled blueberries – a waste product of the juice production industry.
LINGONBERRY SEED OIL
(Vaccinium vitis-idaea)
Known to be a powerful antioxidant with a reputation as a health-promoting superfruit, we use lingonberry seed oil in our Environmental Defence Cream SPF 25, as it helps the cream work as a natural shield against blue light. This botanical is also known for its conditioning properties and for helping boost skin’s natural moisture barrier. We source these wild self-sustainable berries from Finland and Sweden.
SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.

Great coverage

Lovely Product
I use this most days when I am staying home doing chores or nipping to the shops. On Gardening or Long Days out I use a higher SPF which works for me. It has a lovely texture to it and leaves my face with a subtle glow . I find just a tiny bit of concealer is all I need to complete my look. A fabulous mineral SPF product.

Good tone
I got this 2 weeks ago and have used it a few time, although it tones my skin really well, I find it is like running water when you dispense it, finding putting on back of one hand and distributing by tapping fingers into this and then fanning onto places I feel need some time etc. It stays out even in this heatwave at moment. Slight transfer into face mask, but not drastic. Overall performance is fine but feel the consistency needs addressing.

Amazing!
I nearly didn't buy this as it seems a bit if a Marmite product from reading other reviews but I'm so glad I did. I have actually ditched my normal foundation now and just wear this, for the first time in ages I look alive and glowing. I've only been using it for 4 days but I do think it goes on better over the Light moisturiser rather than superskin but not thoroughly tested yet. Try it!

This cream smears as it goes on and takes considerable time to be absorbed. It is also a rather strange colour and leaves my skin looking somewhat blue/white. Not my favourite Liz Earle product.

Love this!
I absolutely love this! It leaves a lovely finish on my skin which lasts all day. I have oily skin and normally by around midday my skin is all shiny and greasy, but not with this wonderful product! I'm made up with it, thank you Liz Earle!

Easy to use
I buy this to use on make up free days when the sun isn’t too bright. I find that as well as offering some protection which helps keeping my rosacea under control, it evens out my skin appearance so that I can just add a pop of blusher if I want to.

I love all the Liz Earle products I have bought previously this one not so much.I was hoping for something easy to apply,but this product is thick and needs a lot of rubbing in and it feels heavy which is not what you need in the summer months,so I’ve gone back to the product I used before.

I bought this cream to protect my skin and also give me some colour as it's Tinted.
Really thick texture and didn't soak into my skin nicely. I had to tissue some of it off . Felt sticky . I wouldnt recommend it Sorry .

Fantastic product
I use this everyday. It goes on beautifully, my skin looks healthy and glowing. The SPF factor is not too high which allows some tanning to occur. Why would you want to block out the sun’s rays completely for your normal day to day routine. The SPF is perfect. This is a miracle product and I love it. Some people are never happy.

Quite dark
I like a tinted moisturiser but this is a bit darker than I expected and rubs off quite easily so I'm worried about getting it everywhere and it looks like I have foundation on. Otherwise I like the feel and quality of the cream.

Not suitable for dark / tanned skin
Pretty disappointed with this one as it leaves a chalky paste. I’m mixed race so have dark skin & normally don’t have any problems with sun cream on my face but this one just doesn’t rub in at all & l have tried using a smaller amount.

Lovely idea but odd texture and horrible smell.
I recently purchased superskin day and night cream, skin tonic and cleanser direct from Liz Earle website. These products all smell gorgeous and my skin has been amazing since using them for around a month. I purchased the spf after realising that the day cream didn't include any. I was expecting the same excellent quality and gorgeous smell. I was disappointed to find that the texture was odd and seemed to move over my skin rather than sink in. The smell is really unpleasant and takes away the amazing smell of previously used day cream. Unfortunately I purchased this in store with birthday money on a weekend away. Had I purchased directly from website I would be asking for a refund. SPF included in the day cream would be a much better option.

The tint doesn’t work for me
I foolishly bought this without realising it was tinted. It says “tinted to blend with all skin tones” but I don’t think that’s accurate - the tint is pale and pink-ish. I’m a white person with pretty light skin but this doesn’t suit me at all. The pink tone of this product makes any uncovered bits of my face look weirdly yellow (eg. the skin immediately around my eyes - definitely not a good look!)

No white cast - natural tinted with luminous finish
Feels secure on the face - dries down well

Light coverage not cakey foundation feel
Pairs well with other LE skincare

Cons:
Will not work for dark skin I don’t think
Has pink undertones (not strictly universal)
Very expensive full price
I think this would be quite drying without a moisturiser underneath
Takes a while to rub in and remove streaks
(I am skin shade NC25). I was a die hard Soleil Toujours Mineral Glow user and this is the closest i’ve found since ST was discontinued

So far, so good
I’ve learned from previous reviews and used a light touch to apply this cream and the finish is lovely. It’s principle use is as a sunscreen and as yet I haven’t had the weather, we shall see.

Why does this product( the environmental defence cream) need moisturiser on first ? I just want to put moisturiser on that has SPF in it - every other company seems to manage this.

As our moisturisers can be used both morning and evening, we have chosen not to include SPF as this is not required in the evening.
We would recommend applying this after your moisturiser to ensure your skin is fully mosturised so the product melts nicely into the skin.
