AVOCADO OIL
(Persea gratissima)
Legendary for its healthy fat content and emollient properties, the avocado is native to Central America. To extract the vitamin-rich, skin-nourishing oil, the succulent flesh of the ripe fruit is squeezed.
BORAGE SEED OIL
(Borago officinalis)
Renowned for its fantastic moisturising properties, we source our borage from England, where the pure, GLA-rich oil is pressed from the shiny, dark brown seeds of the bright blue flower.
ECHINACEA EXTRACT
(Echinacea angustifolia/purpurea)
Used for its toning and conditioning properties, Echinacea is native to North America. We source our skin-smoothing extract from within the United Kingdom, where the plant is harvested in July and August before the ingredient is extracted and micro-filtered from the flowers, leaves and stem.
HOPS EXTRACT
(Humulus lupulus)
Used for its mild astringent properties, we source our hops from the United Kingdom and Germany, where the leafy green hop strobiles are harvested in August and September before they are fully ripe. The strobiles are then dried in the shade before being extracted to create our ingredient.

Perfect hydration

Not bad!
I don’t think I would buy again but I don’t dislike it. It’s got a pleasant smell, is moisturising without being too heavy but isn’t anything ground-breaking and I have other face creams I prefer.

Love the texture
This moisturiser is light and not too heavy, really does the trick. I’ve had the cream daily moisturiser before and wanted to give the gel a try. Only 4 stars as I’m not really liking the smell. The cream moisturiser had a nice clean almost clinical smell which I liked.

This gel cream was absolutely lovely to use. It left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. A small jar but a little goes a very long way. It has such a lovely scent to it and doesn't leave a tacky residue like I find some gel creams tend to do.

This moisturiser is so hydrating. It's like giving your skin a drink of water. You feel so glowy after using and it lasts a really long time. You only need a little bit. Easily one of my favourite moisturisers!

This gel cream is so refreshing and soothing on the skin. Because of the gel like consistency, it seeps and absorbs into the skin very well and easily. Definitely a very good and moisturing cream to use in the morning, evenings and feels like your face is getting a needed drink of hydration!

Moisture boosted skin
After being sent this product as part of a skincare campaign I have had just under a month to test this product out.
Firstly the product smells great, it has a nice subtle scent that isn’t too overpowering. The gel cream is easy to use and I found a little goes a long way.
Enriched with vitamins, I found this product easily absorbed into my skin and gave it a great moisture boost, giving me supple skin and a healthy glow.
I would recommend this product and the skincare routine and I would purchase this for myself in the near future.

Great skin reviver
I love liz earle cleanser and had been using the toner and moisturiser as a three step routine for some time. However I was intrigued by the skin repair gel cream. My skins not getting any younger, and let's face it having two young kids in tow doesn't do it any favours either! So much repair is needed. It smells so fresh and clean and the consistency is not too slimy for a gel, which I appreciated. Although coming into winter, I can see it being a nice bit of cooling love for the face in summer too. I noticed results almost instantly, with my skin feeling softer and hydrated. After a few uses I could visibly see the results too, skin looking fresher than it has in a long time.

Love the sophisticated glass packaging! The texture of this cream is so lovely, it absorbs very quickly. The only thing I found was that It makes me very oily! Not sure why as it is a gel!

I received this free from Influenster in return for my honest review. I’ve never used Liz Earle products before and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s a gel-like formula but very lightweight, it soaks into the skin beautifully and leaves skin glowing and perfectly hydrated all day.

So far I’ve really liked using this product and would definitely repurchase. I have oily/ combination skin that can feel quite dehydrated and I have noticed a difference since using this gel cream.

I loved how this felt on my skin. It made it feel so soft, straight away.
It was oily or sticky like some face creams too. It didn't feel so heavy on the skin and I could apply make up on top too and it didn't slide off.

I'm 50/50 on this one , little goes a long way and soaks in skin quickly .
But I can't get over the consistency, it's really runny .yes I know it's definitely a personal choice of mine I just like thicker creams .
It works well I have been using it at night as my skin in the morning feels really hydrated .
So no this product is not for me .

Absolutely loved this moisturiser - have been using it roughly for 2 weeks and found my skin is a lot more hydrating. It’s a thick gel texture that really sinks into the skin. You get loads of product as well! Been using it everyday for 2 weeks and still feels full! Would buy again!

I love this gel cream, I was sceptical at what the differences would be as a gel cream to the normal creams and thought it was just a clever word play, however the consistency of the cream is gel like and it absorbs so much faster than any cream does. This product absorbs into the skin quickly rather than sitting on top of the skin which means for my skin It feels more hydrated looks plumper and does not have or leave any shine which I hate. I feel and look refreshed rather that shiney and feeling greasey.

Why does jar boast 72 hours of hydration. If you use Liz Earle, your moisturiser would be applied at least twice a day. So why would you need 72 hours. Confused!

is the product suitable for teenage acne? is the product non-comedogenic?

All skin, however oily or blemish prone, needs nurturing with vitamins and essential fatty acids twice a day, morning and night to ensure that it's in the best possible condition. The best formulation for teenage, ance prone or oily skin types would be our Skin Repair Gel Cream. Our Gel Cream is a cool lightweight translucent cream gel which is slighted mattifying on the skin and provides refreshing shine-free hydration. All our products in the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range have not been tested for comedogenicity. However, we believe that one ingredient that could cause a product to be comedogenic is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our skincare range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin. Can you tell me if the formula for the gel moisturiser has changed please? I have ordered some from QVC & it has a very unpleasant & distinctive smell unlike the gel cream I have previously purchased directly from yourselves.

Sometimes, due to differing harvesting methods we use, different locations and seasons this can affect the natural plant oils and botanicals we use, these can occasionally have an impact on the colour, aroma or texture of a formulation. This should only be very minimal though and does not affect the performance of the product.
