AVOCADO OIL
(Persea gratissima)
Legendary for its healthy fat content and emollient properties, the avocado is native to Central America. To extract the vitamin-rich, skin-nourishing oil, the succulent flesh of the ripe fruit is squeezed.
BORAGE SEED OIL
(Borago officinalis)
Renowned for its fantastic moisturising properties, we source our borage from England, where the pure, GLA-rich oil is pressed from the shiny, dark brown seeds of the bright blue flower.
ECHINACEA EXTRACT
(Echinacea angustifolia/purpurea)
Used for its toning and conditioning properties, Echinacea is native to North America. We source our skin-smoothing extract from within the United Kingdom, where the plant is harvested in July and August before the ingredient is extracted and micro-filtered from the flowers, leaves and stem.
HOPS EXTRACT
(Humulus lupulus)
Used for its mild astringent properties, we source our hops from the United Kingdom and Germany, where the leafy green hop strobiles are harvested in August and September before they are fully ripe. The strobiles are then dried in the shade before being extracted to create our ingredient.

Awful Product * very Disappointed
Having been a fan for 20 years, I was so disappointed to find the formula for the best-smelling and most wonderful product ever has changed beyond recognition. The fake perfume smell made my eyes smart and it does nothing for my skin. Waste of money!!

Lovely
I have used the light cream for years but as I’m going through the menopause my skin has become drier so I gave this rich version a try and am really pleased with the results. I was worried it would make my combi skin too greasy and cause breakouts but it hasn’t.

Lovely consistency
I started using this at the beginning of the year when my face was looking a bit tired and “wintery “. I absolutely love it. It glides on easily, smells nice, and I’ve seen a definite improvement in the clarity of my skin. It’s become a firm favourite.

Brilliant for sensitive skin!!
I have psoriasis, so at times my skin can go very dry and patchy. I always know that when I use Liz Earle, my skin soon calms down within a couple of days and becomes bright and smooth!
I use cleanse and polish, instant boost, followed by the moisturiser. Will never go back!!

Ideal moisturiser for after Radiotherapy
I bought this cream specifically to use on my breast after radiotherapy treatment. It is light and cool and spreads easily and the benefit lasts all day and night. I first discovered it two years ago when I had treatment to my right breast and recovered with no side effects at all. I bought it again this year when I had treatment on the left side. Thankfully all is now well.

Dry sore itchy skin
Having tried the new formula of the rich repair cream I'm left with dry itchy sore skin. This clearly is not a skin repair cream, as from reading the reviews it's happening to many of your customers. No two peoples skin are the same yet it is affecting many others in the same way. How can that be? You claim your ingredients are gentle, natural and compatible for the skin so this should not be happening to many customers. The shea butter sits on the surface of the skin, starving the lower layers of the dermis of moisture, plus the added scent causing irritation along with the dryness that the shea butter is causing. I really wish LIz had not sold the company!

Lovely thick cream
I love how rich the cream is but still gets soaked into the skin. The only way to finish after a cleanse and tone. Pleased the glass jar is back as did not like the plastic bottle at all.

Think the formulation has been changed again. Use to i use to purchase in jar and then it started coming in tube which was extremely difficult to rub in. Pleased to say recent purchase came in jar and seems to be absorbed much more easily thank goodness

Gorgeous Cream
I bought this about 2 months ago and have been using it as a night cream as it is quite thick and it is gorgeous, smells fantastic and absorbs into your skin and it feel lovely. I am probably going to by the lighter version for my day cream when I have finished my current one. This is the first time I have used Liz Earle and I have been impressed.

Why do your moisturisers not contain spf? I want to start using your range, but am disappointed I would need to buy so many products (cleaner, toner, day moisturiser, night moisturister) as well as spf to go on top!

We can confirm that all our moisturisers do not contain SPF, this is so they can be used both during the day and at night, where skin does not require SPF coverage at night. We are also ware that many of our customers with sensitive skin find SPF material in their moisturisers to be irritating to their skin, so we have tried to make our moisturisers inclusive as possible by being suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
Finally, where skin requires a constant level of protection, SPF products should ideally be re-applied every couple of hours, and we have created a skincare product called Environmental Defence Cream to be better suited where this has been designed to be the very last step within your skincare routine. Is the Skin Repair Rich Cream non-comodegenic? My skin is dry but acne-prone.

With the exception of our Environmental Defence Cream SPF25, none of the products in the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range have been tested for comedogenicity.
However we believe that the primary ingredient that would cause a product to be comedogenic (and therefore block the pores) is mineral oil and this is not something that is used in our range, as we believe that plant oils are better for the skin.

Whilst we do have a number of customers who suffer with particularly sensitive skin and skin conditions such as acne rosacea, unfortunately there are no guarantees that individual products within our range are going to suit everyone. All of our products are formulated to be as mild and gentle as possible, but we would always recommend our customers carry out a patch test prior to using any new skincare product for the first time. A small amount should be applied close to the area of intended use. Should you experience any redness, irritation or discomfort during the next 24 hours – or at any point after the patch test - then we would advise to immediately discontinue use.

Has the skin repair changed? My recent purchase doesn't seem as nice as my last tube & it seems thinner & my skin is drier than it used to be. It is so annoying when a product you find perfect is suddenly changed!

We can confirm that there have been no changes made to our Skin Repair Rich Cream since it's launch in March 2020.
Sometimes, due to differing harvesting methods, locations and seasons affecting the natural plant oils and botanicals we use, these can occasionally have an impact on the colour, aroma or texture of a formulation. This should only be very minimal though and does not affect the performance of the product.
